so we got on the train and we were greeted by a tiny cabin with 2 bunkbeds and a local named anton - it / he looked like something out of an old war movie but within minutes we settled in and made it our home for the next 3 and half days...the facilities were basic to say the least we had a tiny bathroom with toilet and sink no shower and the catering consisted of a tank with hot water - if you want to lose weight and do no excercise we recommend the cup a soup diet... so how did we keep ourselves amused on the train for 76 hours - lots of sleeping trying to communicate with the locals using sign language picture dictionary,thinking of ways to make our meals more interesting / ... read more

hello all Zdravstvujtye we are sitting in our executive lounge wondering how we got here - and just had the most expensive breakfast yes moscow really is the most expensive city in the world.... we off to check out the red square and see if we can find ourselves a couple of russian billonaires but before we venture out we need to put on our thermals its minus 1 and snow. We are departing for our longest train ride ever tonight across siberia mongolia and eventually reaching china 2 weeks from now - dont worry we have plenty of supplies courtesy of the marriott aurora hotel moscow:) and we hope we are not sharing our cabin with any mentalists, goats or snorers So far we have managed to avoid the mafia but on the way ... read more
