good stuff very interesting Tim, possibly your best post yet. I find it very depressing that I'm reading this sat at the same desk as I read your first post.....
Israel We couldn't go to Israel this trip as we then wouldn't be allowed into a number of other countries (that don't recognize or like Israel). Perhaps next time....
good entry I liked your blog because you didn't get all political, and you didn't lap up everything those kids told you - you realise there are two sides to every story, unlike some others on Travelblog.org. Well done.
Looks cool I cant believe its the same lebanon I see in the news and papers.
It looks beautiful and thats why I have put it in my next destination
list. Nice work Tim and carry on mate.

Damn you! Ah...I was just in Egypt, and you have me wishing I'd headed up to Jordan and Syria instead of going the other way. Good stuff, enjoyed the photos and the detailed info...
That blog inspired me to blog I just wanted to say how excellent that blog was!!I see it in a totally different light now. Keep up the good work both of you!!
Awesome photos! And I enjoyed reading the blog as always. Sounds like you are having a fantastic time in places people are reluctant to visit. What am I going to do at work when you guys are no longer traveling and I cant read your blog anymore?? Missing ya, Vanessa x
You did it again! Tim. You always manage to transport me to whereever you are, thru the discriptions and great pictures. This time I share viewing your pics with my 11 year old son, Yannick. He enjoyed them as much as me. Thank and where is the next pit stop????
Patricia
amazing! Not only an awesome blog, but incredible pictures. I feel like I went there... now I want to go there! Looks like an incredible country with nice people. The photos are so illustrative and diverse, how long were you in Syria? I see by the bold country list at the end of the blog that this is possibly your last stop on your world tour?! For shame, keep going!!
Thanks Thank you for you awesome blog on a not often visited part of the world. There's nothing better than hearing the 'real deal' from people who have travelled there - rather than the media and guide books.
Great to see fellow kiwis (is that an assumption?! )out there exploring the world!
Great blog An informative and interesting blog, mainly because I have been to the dead sea but from the side of Israel...I honestly did not know there was so much history there in Jordan, and that is another place that I want to visit. It's unfortunate that you can't go to Israel cause you wouldn't be allowed in the neighbouring countries though, and I'm looking forward to the next entry.
thank you Mingalaba, your blog and amazing photographs are an inspiration to me as I plan a similar trip to Asia and the Middle East. Thanks for your humor, compassion and sanity.
Thats alot of cash I did the maths. You could make between (depending on quality of camel) 3.5 to 12.5 million quid. I know kylies a pretty girl and all but thats a lot of cash. Really enjoyed reading that. I miss the ME. Best hospitality on the planet.

Kia Ora & welcome to our blog;
It may look like we've given up on the travels, but there will be more.... one day.
Left the UK in the mid 1990's with plans for a year or so of exploring. Finally made it home again eleven years later, only to set off again soon after. Got lost along the way with a couple of years travelling in Asia, a year living, working & travelling to all corners of Australia & the rest travelling & later living & getting married in New Zealand.
Highlights in no particular order include; Syria (x2) , Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Nicaragua, China (x2), Burma (x3), Viet... full info
