You speaka da English again ! That Evening Standard headline was evident just before we went ourselves this year. We stayed in Staines right beside the Thames and boy was it flowing FAST. Good to see you tasting a drop there Mel. We would have loved to go to Nth Ireland but only got as far as Bath because of our short visit. Still great. You both should be coming home soon !
Aint Love Grand Only if your young and s..... and in love would you step into that mush ! Paris .... I loved eating the succulent snails but I was in love too. Liz and I spent our honeymoon there.
It's about time we've heard from you!!! Glad to hear that you two are having fun and Melanie and I were just thinking of when you'll be returning to Aussie-Land. Is traveling still fun? Can't wait to catch up, we'll have to give you a call when you return home. I don't remember seeing a blog from the states...did I miss it? Happy Holidays wherever you are celebrating them.
Larry and Melanie
Morocco mastered Once again Mel and Gareth your Blog pictures and written imageries are destined for that large volume of the G& M Travelogue. You certainly took on challenges away from some of the better known Moroccan tourist places. Way back in 1970 my challenge had been to hitch-hike from Casablanca to London. What a journey! Apart from being picked up by a Moroccan gay guy, having young Tangir boys follow you around hoping for tips and seeing a dead body being pulled out of the water at Cadiz
I did enjoy my quest. I was only a day late back at the London school in which I was working.
peaches and cream Fabulous pictures galore, scrumptuous raclettes, mountains of snow & ice, adventurous couple of Aussies, numerous relative reunions and oh to be thirty years younger !!!
Although Liz and I have just returned from England; not quite as adventurous but did see our few relatives. Highlights was staying in Staines right on the Thames and travelling to Bath and going through Roman Baths. Happy Days !
Cheese and Chocolate and Wine ... Oh my! Your blog is brilliant, as usual. I can almost taste the cheese! Thanks for including all the fantastic family photos.
Euro affairs Thankyou once again for sharing your travelling experiences.Me thinks you are three years too late to Athens. I bet it was soic and span in 2004 !!!
Gareth if mel's " wobbly's " are anything like Tara's. my daughter ...
YOU HAVE A PROBLEM ! Maybe our State Minister for Transport, John Watkins has nothing to be really concerned about when I read of your misadventure in crossing the border from Greec into
Macedonia. So you were in jail in Russia I experienced it in Oaxico, Mexico. Just as my Australian mate was driving one morning he failed to give way and hit a Mexicano. It was then I learnt he didn't have a licence after we had both been driving all the way from Vancouver in canada. Anyway after going to court and paying a hefty fine of 42,000 pesos we were on our way again ! All these adventures add to your story !
Now now Mel! It's been a long time since I've seen you throw a tanty, but glad to hear you're doing it in style!
Some of these pics look amazing, keem them coming!
Hugs & Kisses across the seas,
Ang & Joel
Egypt of old Thankyou for your version of your travels around Egypt. As I sit in front of the computer this morning with four layers of clothes I was wishing for some of that Egyptian heat. Your many descriptions should help me relate the story of Joseph as the theme for my Kids Holiday Club this year is Pyramid Rock. With your permission I could copy some of your beaut photos and display appropriately around the hall

Diddo Larry Hi Guys...when's the book coming out?...your tales have been excellent and we wait for the next edition with great excitement. Lucky your legs weren't longer Mel or the donkey would have traded the saddle for sure (no offence intended!) Miss you both
WOW Great to finally hear from you two again. I think I want to move to Egypt so I can shed a few pounds (kilos for you non-Americans). Gareth, I think you should write stories.
later
Call those camels I am sure the camel "Kabul" Barbara & I rode was much bigger than the ones in your photos.
As always great to get your updates.
Watchout though Christmas is getting closer.
Cheers Andrew(Uncle)
voluptuous - an excellent word Have enjoyed reading about your adventures Gareth and Mel. I thought after seeing such wonderful tulips in Turkey you might desire to travel on to Amsterdam !
Did you know that once upon a time that Ephesus was the natural centre for the spread of Christianity in the whole province of Asia. I didn't either until I read it in the Atlas of the Bible.
Never to be forgotten While you had sombre moments at Anzac Cove there were many at Martin Place in Sydney. This year they experienced some discomfort as it poured with rain during the service. But many were there paying their respect to those who had fought and those who had both fought and died in all wars since Gallipoli days.
Shnapps in Vienna Did we get to sample the delights at Vienna Schnappery???? If affirmative, we can excuse the lack of pictorial evidence due to the sleeping off of ones' hangover!!!
Beaut Days in BudaP Hi Gareth & Mel...looks like great weather in BudaP & Beautiful Prague. I bet when we see you i have a skyline photo of Prague from the exact same spot. Ps Thanks for the names for no.2 bub...we'll think about them...keep the suggestions coming love ya
Interesting Blog I think you are the one drinking the Absinthe Gareth and maybe that is when you wrote that blog or maybe that is why you haven't been writing blogs. Sip back on some funny stuff heh. Good to see you two are still alive somwhere in this world. I tried to vote for your modern art picture but i dont know how. cya
Umm... can I please have a ummm heart attack on a plate that sounds just delightfully tantalising annnnnd a side order of pigs ears with the ahh chocolate fondue for dessert. Thanks! Oh and drink umm I'll take the hot pear beverage, sounds disgusting but intriguing.
Something's a bit outta whack at those Hungarian Baths...seems to be an overload of bad looking men in budgie smugglers and a lack of women. Please explain.
We got married in August 2005 then a week later found ourselves teaching English at a Russian school in Mongolia. Having survived the most brutal winter we will ever know, moved to Korea for another teaching stint. Just kicked off the next leg in our bonza adventure - 30 something countries, 6 continents, 2 weddings and a bunch of fun. Quite a honeymoon!
