The flight Thursday lasted about eight hours, but seemed to go quicker. Before I knew it, we were flying over the Italian Alps, which you could see peaking though the clouds. I got into Venice Friday morning and took a water taxi into the city. Boats and gondalas were everywhere and as the canals became more narrow, it kinda felt like driving in New York City; every man for himself. Venice is like a giant maze so it was a little tricky finding the hotel, but after walking around for a little while, and advice from a couple locals, I found it. The window of my room overlooks a busy back canal, which isn't unusual for any of the hotels around. This makes for a noisy stay, but unique and interesting at the same time. The
