You guys are seeing it all and bringing back my memories of having done the same. I'm going driving with Lois tomorrow morning early--5:00am at Starbuck's. won't they be surprised to see me at that hour!!!
I's sending much love and Merry Christmas greetings to you.
I love you,
Carole
So interesting! I can't say that Cambodia looks appealing, in a normal tourist sense. But I'm sure you've learned a lot and I'm eager to hear your reactions to all these experiences!
Miss you Hi! I loved the picture of Marlese's err should we say booty!! That was a cute picture. Looks like you both are having a wonderful time. Are you ready to come home yet? We look forward to seeing all your pictures and hearing the fun stories about your adventures.
Love and miss you,
Cathy, Rachel & Rhonda
Flowers at the Central Market Irreverent indeed! Shame on you Marlese...LOL You look pretty cute to me. The photo I am refering to in my last comment is the one titled "Flowers at the Central Market" with 3 women sitting on the ground.

Food, Flowers, Gardens Yummmmmmmmm, organic veggies! I want the picture of the women sitting on the sidewalk with all the yellow flowers. What beautiful colors in this photo and composition. Great photos guys!
Thank goodness!!! Thank goodness you made it through that hole safely! Looks as though the two of you are having an absolutely stupendous time, wish we were with you.
Lots of love,
Sheila and Debbie
Part II ...betel-chewing (Areca nut, sprinkled with slaked lime and wrapped in a Piper betel leaf which produces a very bitter and sharp tasting chewable ...
I looked a little further and found this and lots more but enough for now. It is carcinogenic as well as disfiguring...
Car-oil
It's betel juice and from a plant not the little crawly things. It does have a bit of a high. Actually, the betel nut is the nut from the Areca palm and is mixed with something and lime powder. One chews the fibrous nut into a wad and then adds in the lime powder and it all turns red. The whole thing is finally spat out and not swallowed. (You're welcome! I'l stop the lesson now...).
Stay well...
Love,
Carole
Hahaha,
Many older women have back teeth because they have dyed theirs. This habbits were in fact very popular in the past, but nowadays only some in the countryside do. They used dried tabaco leaves and betel to stain the teeth.
Great blog indeed. Enjoy traveling.
Comments from Scotty Marlese,
I am enjoying following your travels. I would dearly love to get to Angor Wat but don't expect that I will at this point. I am jealous of the fabulous picture taking opportunities available to you.
Hope you continue to enjoy your visit and trip to Taiwan.
Scotty
Aren't you glad you lost so much weight so that the photo op Mel availed himself of is blog-able?
How are the other people? How many in your group? (Or do you not want these kinds of descriptions going out to a wider audience?
How about the food, etc., etc.?
I love keeping in touch this way!
Car
"Marlese, the Brave" I would never have gone into that entrance or into the tunnel. Has Mel took any risks yet? How is the food there? You are both very adventurous. (To me, since I am the opposite.)
THAT'S MY GIRL! Your blog is great. The photos and captions work really well.
Thanks for the travelogue. I can remember all that you are experiencing.
XOXO
You didn't!! Marlese,
I can't believe you went down into that TINY hole!! But then again I guess I can believe it. Glad you haven't lost your sense of adventure :-)
Keep us posted on your ongoing adventures (and crazy pranks),
Dori
