=) Bless you Maria..can remember those thought myself after a long time in Africa.. and guess what i would love to be sweating like a chicken and shop at shoprite for stupid prices...I miss you and wish i was there with you..get well..xxxxxxxxxx
don't give up, kids learn to speak without knowing how to write or read so you just need to use a different method :) it'll probably be more fun for them too, as learning a language in the traditional way is the most tedious thing ever!!! try with songs they'll love it !! xxx
what a nightmare!! feel sorry for you, is not enough to say that even if they were donations were for your foundation rather than KIDI? well, good luck !!
nooooo they are still investigating they lied to me! i am s getting used to lies in this country!
they said one thing then they changed ther min but i've already approached the Interpol and the embassy!
NO USTICE...AS YET Well, things were not as expected, KAMAMMA INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT INTIATiVES (KIDI) told the government officials that the car had been paid with donations therefore the car was theirs. The car was paid 100% with my own money so i had to try to prove that though rather difficult.
The solicitor has been told that by next week we'l know something. i'll keep u posted but FYI, the charman of KIDI is using MY CAR to campaign! can u believe he could become a politician? someone so corrupted?
Fortunately HE LOST! he went to the masai villages to get votes but my women knew who he was and what he had done to me and they voted against him! well done ladies!!
I came across your post accidentally, but I enjoyed it because it sounds like you're doing amazing things, helping to teach English! My blog is looking for travel photos, reviews, etc, to share (even of ways that fellow travelers can help volunteer!). If you have the time, check it out at dirty-hippies.blogspot.com, or email me at dirtyhippiesblog@gmail.com. Continued fun on your travels!
Heather :)

u r right thx for your comment; i am not giving them any money at all butpaying at the school after interviewing the headmaster/headmistress; giving money won't help them, i know that; local NGOs r corrupted (check the story about KIDI); the others i;ve met great people but they r busy doing something else.if u care about individual people then it is up to u to find the way 2 make it the good way.
Next So.... i have lived ni Tanzania for quite soetime and i was waiting for the rest of the story where Rosie tells the author that her son is dead and upon further investigating the author finds out all her "feee's" and tuituion were actually spent on beer, these types of tricks are always played! Never, and i repeat never, hand funds directly ovder to a Tanzanian. Always go through the NGO as at least they have some sort of transperency.
My names is Maria and I moved to live in Tanzania in November 2009. I have st up my own NGO to help fighting poverty and to make a better world. The name is Carpio-Perez Foundation. CPF is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organisation that exists to create, support and develop Tanzanian local NGOs’ projects. We aim to be a source of assistance for sustainable development and poverty eradication.
Carpio-Perez Foundation envisions communities with improved equitable and sustainable livelihood improving the standard of living in rural communities and most deprived urban ones by ... full info
