We wish you had turned left... Sofia mentioned in her comment that you are truning south and east, which if you are in Utah would take you in our direction. Glad to see that your kids will be able to meet Sofia at least. If you have time after that and are in Colorado, you wouldn't have to come all the way here, but we could meet half way like in Breckenridge!
Fly-over... Hi Bob,
We just fly out off SLC this morning with something like 6 inches of snow...and we were visiting CNN by 4.30pm...so sadly no stop this time in Colorado...tomorrow morning it's the aquarium! The kids loved CNN...I was way less impressed by the tour...guess I'm too spoiled!
Looking forward to seeing you Enjoy the mountains and canyons while you can because the will disappear as you head South East. Sofia and I look forward to seeing you next weekend.
Page was built as a town for the construction workers who built the Glen Canyon Dam.. we've passed through several times as it is in a strategic location for anywhere you want to go in southern Utah or northern Arizona. Our favorite hotel built in southwestern style was the Marriott Courtyard...but you probably don't need to know that now!
Beautiful! This is such a great shot of you two! I've actually never been to the Grand Canyon but I'd love to take my kids one day. Thanks for sharing. :)
You are driving through my favorite area of the US... and the white snow adds such great contrast to the red rocks. Glad to see you are all having fun!
Hi Bob! I SLC...going skiing in Alta tomorrow...and way too many pictures to sort out...but my next entry could actually be a more politically incorrect one...we'll see...
Happy new year! Loving the pics of vegas at Christmas time! Leslie & Tiffany looked like they are having a great time with you all together to celebrate. Happy new year to you all x
And may you have a Happy New Year too! I took my wife and daughters to Las Vegas for New Years Eve a couple years ago, and the crowds were too rude for my daughters so we were also back at our hotel before midnight. Enjoy your trip north. Too bad you're not coming to Colorado...it would be great to finally meet you and the kids.
Colorado... Hi Bob, Happy New Year from Page. We already did Aspen with Leslie in the summer few years ago. I may ski in Vail end of 2013...nothing done yet on that side.
Where has the time gone?! Wow - already six months gone in Argentina! Lovely to have the time with your family - I was almost expecting a 3 generation golf photo like your old profile pic :-)
NO HAY? Wow Peter...in a truly magic part of Patagonia...true wilderness. I hope you have spare petrol in the back as well. We drove to Bajo Caracolas to get petrol...but the pumps had a sign "No Hay"...ran out of petrol...only saved by the spare in the back. Gotta say I'm delighted there are still rough sections on Ruta 40...kind of a shame the bitumen is being laid...that section north of Perito Merino is insane.Love your pictures...Cave of the Hands...the rugged & flat landscape...your kids are sure lucky their Dad takes them to such diverse locales. Looking forward to seeing where to next.
Thanks Dave... Gravels are really fun...but when they turn into stones of more than 5cm, I have no fun with my little car....don't tell you how often the car was too low and we "touched" the middle of the "road". Made it to El Calafate with some funny moments...
More blogs obviously coming...and for the kids, it's only the first week of the summer holidays...a lot more to come...full of diversity...
PATAGONIA How exciting to be driving...Bariloche, El Bolson, Esquel...presumably Ruta 40. We 4WDed that way a few years back. I'll follow your journey. Olla from David & Denise.
This blog is just short of 10 years old. We have now move to South Africa.
Why South Africa? Simple, great wine, great food, great golf and even more amazing diving! I will for once continue to blog from time to time about home. After all, this is just my fourth continent after having grow up in Europe, lived in Asia for twenty years, and even spent a full year living the life of Buenos Aires.
Come to visit....there is so much to do here! ... full info

It's wonderful that we appreciate the same landscapes...
and I'm looking forward to your Canyonlands and Arches blogs.
