Glad you are Finishing the Blog Hello Tine,
I was afraid that when you got back to Denmark you would not have time to finish your travel blog of the southwest. I continue to enjoy your fresh perspectives on places that Karen and I have visited over the years. Your children sound very much like our daughters Heather and Lauren did when they were about the same age as you children and tired of all the travel spots that Karen and I were interested in seeing. Looking forward to your next chapter. Michael
Memories of Las Vegas Hello Good Danish Friends:
I loved Tine's comments about Las Vegas and her descriptions especially the "Blow Dryer in your mouth on HOT" are appropriate. In all my years of living in southern California I have only been to Las Vegas twice and both times it was to connect with friends. Unless you are a gambler there is not much there. Yosemite is wonderful and I hope you enjoyed the scenery. The Grand Canyon is very dry like the desert but spectacular when you consider how it was formed from water erosion over 100,000's years. Keep the blog going. It is fun to chronicle your impressions of America. Michael
I, Too, Love the coastal route Hello again, fearless travelers,
Your photos and commentaries are such fun. It's a long time since Galal and I were on that beautiful coastal run from San Franciso to Pismo. Did you take the time to tour the Hearst Castle? I'm a native Californian but I always turned up my nose at such a tourist attraction. Well, I finally broke down and we went through it about five years ago. It was fascinating. I'm eager for your next adventure. By the way, on Saturday, the 11th, I adopted a rescued Maine Coon cat. He's about two years old and we love him so much. He's not quite as big as Eskil's, but he's still young. love, mel
hi karen,
yes we've been really lucky with the weather until now, but it's a bit too hot for us here around MOab and Mesa Verde too, I expect.
Do you remember the address where we all lived in Riverside?
Tine
Beach! So glad the weather along the central coast cooperated for your visit there. It can be overcast in the summer, if hot inland. Enjoy your journey together!
Love,
Karen
Hi Mel,
If you find it fun you can look back in our other travelblog from 2007 and find our blog from most of our trip (we never finished it) and also Samoa.
love tine
Bicycles in Claremont Hello Tine, Paul, Freja and Eskil,
When you arrive in Claremont there are two bicycles in the garage that you are welcome to use. There is a tire pump (red handle) on the shelf in front of the Mercedes to pump up the bike tires. Neither bike has been ridden in quite some time but they should be fine for riding to the village for a latte at "Some Crust Bakery". Some Crust has very good pastries that I miss very much.

Wonderful Travelog Aloha Tine, Paul, Eskil, and Freja,
What a great tale of your adventures so far. It was really a treat to read. I felt like I was going along with you. It was also wonderful to see what Freja and Paul look now. I've already fallen in love with Eskil because he obviously loves his Maine Coon cat. Tine, where are you in all these pictures. Will I know you now that you're all grown up?
Sorry about the long lines and waits for everything, from transportation to food. It's high tourist season so it's unavoidable. Just wait until you experience California freeway traffic. Away will go the rest of your sanity! We're used to the crowds, especially in our beach towns and I have discovered the best days to go to the beach or almost anywhere are Mondays and Tuesdays. I suspect most tourists are busy catching up on their laundry those days but I always seem to find a parking spot. And we eat at off hours and in humble places. Meaning cheap. I hope you find the glorious Southwest region less congested. But keep your sense of humor. Your tour sounds magical and the children are getting a rare look at the Southwest and California, thanks to their brilliant tour leader, Ms Tine.
love and do keep up the travelog.

How exciting! Dear Tine, Paul, Freja and Eskil,
It is such fun to see your photos and read notes about your travels thus far. Many adventures (and mis-adventures) make for good vacation memories! It looks like you are seeing and doing a lot, but still have time for an end-of-the-day swim. And as good Danes, you are finding opportunities for bicycling here and there. Best wishes for the rest of your journey!
Love,
Karen
Tak for rejsebeskrivelser.

Håber I får set nogle Kænguruer ! I kan jo hilse dem her :-)
