The wanderings continue Thank you Louise for your latest edition of your wanderings. I spent 13 years trading to the Gulf before the great re-deveopment of Dubai. The change has been quite remarkable, and it is almost impossible to imagine where the old port was. Have a great Christmas. Cheers David + Paddy

Nostalgia ! ..... Thanks Loved reading this to remind me of my C2C walk ten years ago. And so glad you enjoyed it.
A few notes to help people planning this in the future
- "Lakes District" is actually the "Lake District"
- There are two Youth Hostels in Ennerdale - one is (I think) called "Ennerdale", and the other is called "Black Sail" and is a few miles east of the village of Ennerdale Bridge , bang on the C2C, just before you start the steep climb out of the valley.
- "Lake Ennerdale" is called "Ennerdale Water"
- "Lake Buttermere" is called "Buttermere"
(there is only one Lake District lake with "Lake" in its name , and it isn't Windermere or Grasmere, either)
- "Swaledale River" is called the "River Swale" or just "The Swale".
Come and try the C2C, folks - its better than driving !

There's a Dinosaur!! What Lou failed to mention that as we were leaving the Dino Park, Ryan (our youngest child 4YO) could see the back end of what he thought was a Dinosaur at the entrance to the park. This was a real live Dinosaur that was going to eat him for dinner(this was how Ryan's little mind was seeing it!) It was fantastic timing!! I thought it was anyway! Ryan on the other hand was hysterical. He would not leave the park. Dad came to the rescue and picked Ryan up ... and now he was punching and kicking me (he doesn't trust his dad! He thought I was going to feed him to the Dinosaur). Anyway, this was Ryan's first introduction to a baby dinosaur..I mean elephant
