Good Afternoon Sir Afternoon Lawrence (at least it's afternoon here), I've finally got round to posting a comment on this detailed Blog site; shortly before you're heading home no-doubt. Glad to see you've been keeping busy and seeing the sites. I'm looking forward to seeing the photos. (I've 3 of our NYC one's on the wall). I would like to wish you good luck for your final leg Mr Palin, and I'll see you in September.
Sounds like more fun than work!! Hey Dunc, Nan emailed me with a link to this blog thing and I've just read your logs. Sounds like your having a top time and I'm really jealous! I thought you'd gone travelling, I tried to ring you to congratulate you on your job but just got your answer phone. Well done on the job by the way, when do you start? How long are you travelling for?
Me and Vicky have a bit of news - we recently went to Greece for a week to climb mount Olympus (not up to the same standards as your adventures!) - when we got to the top it was a lovely morning and we were all alone so I went down on my knee and popped the question! Think it was a combination of the sun and the altitude that made me have a funny turn!! So now we're engaged! As with getting engaged we're not rushing to get married, think it might be 2009!
To add to that we're also in the process of buying a house! We had an offer accepted about three weeks ago and hope to move in by the end of July! It's in Scunny, you'll have to come and visit when you get back. It's not far from Scunny Utds ground so you can come and watch Forest lose here next season!!
Apart from that I don't have any more news. I'm still at Corus and Vix's still working in Sheffield - both getting on ok. I'll sign up and keep reading your blogs so keep em coming. And keep having fun!
See ya,
Scott and Vicky
PS my email is scott.witting@ntlworld.com if you want to add me to your list!

Well, we can all boast you know... Yesterday I washed my hair, bought some milk and tackled a seriously dangerous pile of laundry. Today I might live on the wild side and bake something. See, its not just you living on the wild side...
In all seriousness (or at least something close), it sounds amazing and it makes me happy to know you are making the most of it.
Take care and remember to apply suncream every four hours (I have very little good advice)
Lots of love, D xxx
response my name is mum (as Peter Kay would say)..just a thought that transvestite might have been a case of too much oestregen....never underestimste its powers!! hope you're not too badly bitten. your trip sounds amazing -I'm really enjoying the blog . keep safe love you -mum
Don't mean to be a statto but.... ...you can't actually say "hablo màs mejor español". (I should know as I made the mistake many times in my language classes!!!) "Ahora, yo hablo mejor" or "Puedo hablar mucho mejor despues de mis clases", might fit the bill a bit better!!!
Anyway, sorry if that knocks the wind out of your Spanish speaking sails a little, but am really glad things have gone well for you so far, and can't believe you've been on the road over 3 weeks already.
When I climbed Volcan Villarica we didn't get the pleasure of a lava flow, but we did have a steaming crater which erupted lava every 15 mins or so!!!
Keep on trucking matey.
Cuidate mucho, y espero que vayas a disfrutar tus viajes.
¡Espero con ancias a la fiesta en Inglaterra cuando tù regresas!

After graduating from University of Sheffield I developed a travelling itch and I've been scratching ever since. This is my second major trip and will take me through Latin America. I intend to see the sights, and climb many a hill and mountain, photograph copious sunsets and temples, and hopefully improve on the little Spanish that I have along the way too!! ... full info
