Green with envy! Lizzie it all sounds so wonderful - I admit to tinge of jealousy. Hope you get to meet up with Annie and Richard - I have no doubt as to your ability. (make sure you take a photo of the ring and send it to me!)
We had a lovely night with Pete & the Kyles - it just wasnt the same without my friend so you are not allowed to die!! I headed off to bed at about 0200 the boys sat up drinking rumbos until about 3.30 putting the world to right. Pete arrived out this morning having trouble with his tele - he was using the phone to try & change channels. We shifted to the remote with still no luck to find we were then trying to run the TV with the DVD remote! At that stage all effort was aborted. He headed home to do jobs and to enlist the help of Ange or Sarah to fold sheets. "you just cant fold sheets on your own" plus - (unless he can con the girls to do his ironing as well) a date with the ironing board .I think he is missing you !!! All good here although DBK is digging more f.....g holes as he thinks a pipe just by the chook house has burst as there is a lot of water lying around. We have a beautiful new drive so lets hope the pipe is on the grass side of the drive. Imagine if we have to dig it up. That would be so unfair so fingers crossed. Keep safe and lots of love to you both. Daley xxx
Blog Morning girls...
Liz, just loving your updates -- what a talent you have, maybe you should consider becoming a travel writer!
I don't have the Press delivered anymore so it makes my day when I check my laptop while having my breakfast and find a "blog" to be read.
All good here, on countdown for the arrival of Juliet & Molly next Wed. I have managed to get the Thurs. off which means I will be able to look after Molly while Ju goes to a couple of meetings--what a chore that will be!!!
So pleased you are both having so much fun, take care.
love GG
Lovely to hear from you both again. Yes, I can sympathise exactly with your sentiments about Turkey. Parts of it are so interesting and amazing but the men in the markets in Istanbul - I think I told you about them. I didn't get hassled too much - maybe because I was on my own most of the time. Are there still lots of bridal shops and lingerie shops throughout the country all showing much the same merchandise in their windows even to the style and materials? Also stacks of moulded bras which the men buy for their women who must all have the same sized boobs! Great to hear that Annie and Richard are engaged although I must admit, after meeting them at your place ages ago, I thought that would be a fait accompli. They were so obviously suited.
I have a guest here from the UK at present (through the very expensive Catholic B and B book). She's lovely (but talks all the time about herself and her break-up with her husband who has run off with a part Maori/Thai woman with tattoos on her cheek and who lives in Oamaru!!!!) I can't keep up!) She's over here to try and find them and get her husband to 'sort things out'.. Don't blame her.
Went to see Pauline's mother the other day at Ngaio Marsh; she seems fine altho she has had a stint in hospital. Wrote to Pauline who replied back very promptly. Apparently they are coming to ChCh (flying visit!) in July to see her and do lots of other things.
I am now trying to organise myself re the house when I am away. Niue from 11 June to 24 June and UK from 3 July to 14 August. Hope to rent it out over that time and stay with Jan during the days I'm in chCh. Probably go over to Greymouth as wee Molly misses me terribly apparently and goes around pointing to my photo and saying Nanney. Talk about pulling the heart strings. Visit Richard and AJ at the end of May.
Adrienne - I've just talked to Solette. She has a cold but otherwise all is well. She says they get the blogs from Peter Calder who sends them to Chris who prints them out and gives them to Maude. Well,I don't know if Chris actually gives them to Maude but someone does!! Lots of love to you both, take care, don't worry about eating the food - eat drink and be merry. You can always walk it off! You certainly will in Paris.
Diane

Wow! Hi Lizzie
Sounds fab! You paint a beautiful picture! Week one down & we all miss you sooooo much! Grey skies & drizzle seem to be the norm here which doesn't help the spirit. School is busy, lots of challenges that we would normally seek your help with, however, we just think "what would Liz say?" & we are ok. Miss you xxxx
Sounds fabulous What a wonderful trip you are having - I hope you are taking lots of photos - cant wait to see all of them. Haven't caught up with Pete yet but will ring after we get back on Tuesday pm, Shakes still continuing - will be nice to get out of them for 5 days! Keep up with the travelogue - I can see a future in it for you. Lots of love Daley xx
Just love your daily or almost daily entries. Great that you are having such a good time and lots of laughs. That's often what I miss travelling on my own. I bet you do buy a carpet - the hard word will go on with the entry of the apple tea. Love to you both - Diane
LOVING HEARING ABOUT YOUR ADVENTURES Hi Lizzie - enjoying hearing all about your adventures. Sounds as though you are having a great time. Hope you managed to track down that wine!! We are off to Sydney on Friday - (I will probably have the same difficulties as you withdrawing cash!!!) So not nearly as exciting sadly. Haven't been in touch with Pete yet but will do so on our return. Love to you both Daley XXX
Pleased to hear you're having such a lovely time. What do you think the others in the tour group thought of you two? ;-)
Tim has been teaching Molly how a Turkey talks. She thinks it's pretty funny.
Lots of love and keep safe. Love Tim, Ju and Molly-moo xoxo
Great to hear from you Super to hear that you are loving Istanbul. I too didn't go mad on the Grand Bazaar. All that glittery gold - looks fake! The buses are great and you see lots. Fancy meeting someone who dealt with Ballantynes! Had dinner last night at Robyn's with Kate and Julie. Kate's account of what happened on D Day was electrifying. I said she should put it all down in writing as it is a piece of history and should be published. I hope she does do something as she is a great story teller - funny and very moving. Lots of love to you both - Diane
fancy! We are most impressed with this blogging business Fizz. Looking forward to following the progress of your trip. Don't do anything we wouldn't do xx
