your comments about argentine politics and economics are very interesting. I suppose most amazing is how we have ni national health care and they do? The rich and upper middle class being fearful sounds very familiar. What is it about money that makes people scared? Thanks for the info. Your dad will have to write about turkey cooking. I've never cooked one either.n love, mom

two to tango
So, I guess we will have the pleasure of watching you and Daniel Tango when you get back! I can't wait! You know Liz, the Argentinans, must sell hirachis (shoes) like they do in Mexico. At least I would think they must make some sort of cool sandals! When I bought my hirachis (many years ago), I ended up wearing them for probably 10 years. What's nice about this sandal is that you can get them wet and then put them on and wear them. They will then transform to your foot size as they dry! Pretty cool, huh? I'm glad Daniel has a bike now and is getting to work a bit in the bike shop! The pictures of the rose garden and japanese gardens were so pretty! You don't think of a place like that with a Japanese garden! Till later we send much love, Jane and Nick

Tango!
Hi Liz As I watched Dancing with the Stars last night I thought of you. All 4 remaining couple had to do an Argentine Tango. As an added bonus they has a team of professionals tango as well. It you have access, you might enjoy seeing week 9. The teams did 3 dances, and the tango was the second dance. Glad to hear you are getting lots of work. Have you ever thought of walking to work in tennis shoes adn then changing into your heels? It would be way more comforable and your shoes would last longer. http://abc.go.com/shows/dancing-with-the-stars

Hi Lizzie and Daniel. Love the posts and pics. Funny to see some of the places I saw just last Feb. Glad you're in new & better digs. I Trick AND Treated the kids at my door with a candy (like a lemon drop) in a shiny green wrapper all covered in chinese writing. Say wah?? (They'll have to taste it to learn it's a guava drop!) God bless Uwajimaya.!

Cemetaries
I think that all of these places are interesting as they show so much of the history of an area. This one is especially facinating. Glad you got to experiance it. Sounds like work is looking up--good for you. Lots of love

Another hello...
Hi Liz & Daniel! Watching both of your blogs--- Sounds like the adult Spanish class is interesting. Where do you meet for class? And how many adult students would work best for you? Good luck to Daniel on his search--I know he can improvise, and he had many areas that he can use. It's interesting to hear of the delicaties you're finding. Is there an "Argentine" spice that is used locally in some or most of the dishes? And is there a lot of food that is "hot or spicy?" I'm a MN Ketchup gal. The local websites/Craigslist. Good find! Didn't imagine that possiblity, but of course Argentina would have their own web guru's! Good luck on that site. In such a large metro area, you're sure to get results. Love to you both! Stay safe... Granddaughter with us this weekend and she is translating some of the Spanish you mention in your post. How fun for us--thank you.

empanadas
Hi Liz A couple years ago I made 600 empanadas as appetizers for the auction at St. Mary's. Some had ground beef, hard boiled eggs and raisins along with some other typical ingredients. The other flavor I made had spinach, bacon and cottage cheese. They were served with a tomatilla sauce. People loved them. So glad to hear you are having a good experience. Laughed out loud over your Justin Bieber comment and the shady accommodations you left skids marks on. I really enjoy reading your blog. Keep on writing! Hasta luego! Teresa

Liz and Daniel. It's fun to read about your new life in Argentina! I just wanted to let you know that I say a little prayer for you each time I wash my hands with the bicycle soap from your wedding reception. As a family of five, we came home with several bars of soap so the prayers will continue for some time to come! :) Enjoy your adventure in Argentina! Aunt Michelle

We also thought that Lola looks a lot like Keisha. I think she is mostly yorkie, but is a mix too. There are tons of dogs here. I made milanesas, which they showed me how to do so I could make them back home. I didn´t learn how to make the gnoccis, sadly, but maybe another time.

Love these Blogs !
So great to be able to imagine better where you are and what you are doing. ! What an adventure ! Lola reminds me of Keisha. Is he/she a yorkie ? Are you getting recipes for all this interesting food ?

Food and bikes
Well. . . our friend Pilar made parrilla, Argentina bbq. Daniel has decided to eat meat while here in Argentina, so we enjoyed the food at Pilar's house. I did try kidneys, which were not really to my liking. . . to say the least :) There are lots of cyclists here. Daniel is hoping to get a bike soon. I'm still getting used to the way the traffic moves, so no bike for me as of now. Apparently the number of cyclists has gone up 107% this year!!

Traveling....
Hi Liz & Daniel, Glad you made is safe and sound. Any unusual foods you've enjoyed yet? And is there a lot of bicycle traffic where you're at? Will be thinking of you both enjoying the "summer" in Argentina and we'll try to enjoy the winter for you! Love, Joanie

Hey you lovebirds, Great that you made it without any \"snags\"! I can\'t imagine traveling to a foreign country right now! There must be a lot of \"hoopla\" that you go through! Anyway, hope Daniel feels better so you have a bit of time before starting your new job! Have fun and be ever so careful! It\'s a \"jungle\" out there, you know! Love, Aunt Jane and Uncle Nick
