Jealous :)
Hey Liz! I'm glad to hear you had such an amazing time! How did you get to help out with so many of the women's traditions? I felt quite unfulfilled with my experience there, as every time I asked about experiencing the true culture I was shot down. :( Any advice for people yet to arrive? Enjoy the rest of Ecuador, it is truly an amazing place!

not so different here
We've had a lot of rain here Liz so you might need your wellies when you get back - and a machete to hack your way to the office ;o) Sounds like an absolutely amazing experience! A reminder of how totally different people's daily lives are from our own and the real problems they face.

potted life
Great to hear your news again - sounds amazing and really scary! Can't believe how much you have packed in to this 6 months. Ditto Sarah's Bill Bryson comment. As I'm too late to wish you luck in advance of your Amazon adventure, I hope everything has gone well and that your gestures work has stood you in good stead! Take care, love Avie xx

Helloa!
Hi Liz Looks like you're having an amazing time. So sorry to hear about your passport, have you managed to get a replacement? Do you think someone will come through customs trying to look like you??:-} Your blog is amazing and so interesting. You could become the next Bill Bryson! Look forward to catching up when you're back home. We had a shrunken head when I was little, I don't actually think it was real, well I hope not. Just remember it hanging around! Take care Sarah xx

Aw Love, my eyes filled up a little at the end- what an adventure. I'm glad you had hot water at the house- very important point to make and damn I thought you knew Michael Jackson and Hannah Montana- thanks for pointing that out, I'd never have known ;-) Plus my dear Jesus does love you and I am glad you have had the chance to be aware of it- now for the churches of Columbia.... I love the lake- its amazing!! Now if that had been at the end of our 5 mile trek in Borehamwood all would have worth it too. Missing you loads lovely lady and how lucky everyone over there has been to have had your company, knowledge and laughter over the last few weeks. Can't wait to see you, love you lots xxxxxx

hyperbole allowed!
Sounds so great Liz, cliches are permitted! :)) Your last entry - the bike ride sounded very scary. The porters sound like a brilliant idea - anywhere, not just there - they sound like an 'Endurance' version of chalet girls/boys. Loved the fact that they applauded you. (And did you find Ben Fogle's bottom???) To keep you up to date with our sporting events - we're still in the World Cup ... just. May not be by the time you read this. Murray is still in Wimbledon, ditto (but I have my fingers crossed). And a tennis match at W between an American and a Frenchman made records - with 2 sets all, the final set had to be played properly - with games, no tie-break - and it went to 70-68, and that set lasted over 7 hours. Unbelievable. Looking forward to your next entry - and the picnic. I've seen the photos. Take lots of care. Avie xx

You're alight with life
Liz, it is so wonderful to hear you on fire, simply brimming with energy, life and sheer wonder and marvel. We are thinking of you and wishing you many more magic moments on the trip. I thought the hyperbole was deserved! Lots of love, Jessica, Nick, Monty and Artemis XXXX

Wow!
Wow, what a fantastic blog Liz, caught the enthusiasm and was there with you. Really funny too :-) I think you did the cheese sandwich an injustice though - cheese enhances seratonin levels as you know... keep having fun and enjoying living life - Karen x

Sounds fab Liz. Your blog and photos really capture the local 'colour' - and your experiences, you're packing so much in. With you all the way on the mine experience - I've left before now! And clearly they don't have the Health and Safety Executive over there! Looking forward to the next one. Take care, Avie xx

My boyfriend and I have been enjoying your posts and photos. We couldn't go to Pantanal while we were but we hope to one day. Your photos are beautiful! Our blog is giving away a free night in Peru or Bolivia, if you're interested. If you have the time, check out the details at dirty-hippies.blogspot.com. Enjoy your stay in Puno, and try to get to Uros Island; it's pretty awesome! Heather :)

wow
Sounds like you're having a ball Liz. Kept checking this page over the last couple of weeks to see what's what and I realised - too much fun!!! And the beaches look fabulous - just like my chill-out fantasy. Wembley was good - obviously not quite as good as macarana - no helicopters with armed police, but we did get a tightrope walker across the top of the stadium and lots of entertainment! Carry on the good work, take care, have fun and look forward to the next report! xx
