dream come true china sounds like dreas come true linda. i hope someday i get to see some of the things you have seen :)
and in the future i do prefer ditziness over dizziness - at least i n your case. :)
doctor doctor now that was a nice story. well i guess if you gloss over the fact that some of it entailed a visit to the doctor. oh btw - your pills are ground up unmentionable animal parts :0
No signage to warn people of the danger Thanks for your concern, Norm. I didn't know what I was in for when we started this trek to see the Grand Buddha. The guide books tell you about distances involved but their isn't any information to let you know about the physical challenges that may exist in a particular venture. Basically, about all you might get is a sign at the halfway point telling you to be careful.
Just an aside, had the weather been clearer on the second day of our stay at Emei Mountain, the plan was for several of our group going on a morning-long hike. I had already decided that I was going to address my need for rest and a bit of pampering. The previous day's experience left a lasting impression. As it turned out, the hike was off because it rained quite heavily. The sound of the pelting rain on the bamboo forest is really something to behold...it's almost musical!
What Are You Thinking Girl? I know you want to see all you can see Linda but you really have to take care of yourself too.
If something is beyond what you know you should be doing than you have to listen to yourself and not just keep going forward. very reckless girl.
Have fun - but not at the expense of your health. :)

snakes? est-ce possible? I never realized there were snakes in Paris. Is that like the aligators in the New York City sewers? Well, yes, it is very light at 2200 because it IS the summer solstice and wouldn't you know it, France is on a 2 hour daylight saving, not just one like here. They are permanently one hour ahead of their regular time zone and another hour ahead from April to October... Just thought you'd like to know that... Au réservoir mon amie
Fuses? What fuses? Last night, when Judy got back to our room before I did, she tried to put the fan on (our air conditioning!) and it wouldn't go on. She tried both wall switches that work the plug-in and nothing happened! I guess she was thinking that I was up to my old tricks again. Then she bent down to look at the plug-in itself and saw the infamous kettle sitting on the floor under our desk! Now she was sure that I had done something. She unplugged everything that was in that socket and just plugged in the fan. It still wouldn't run. Finally, she looked at the fan itself and saw that it was set to "OFF." When she turned the fan to "ON," it worked.
Now, who do you think had done that? Yep, me...while recharging my camera battery. I had done it as a preventative measure just in case the maid came in and figetted with the switches and then my battery wouldn't be properly charged. So even when I'm careful, we are not necessarily "safe."
About 10 pm, I asked Judy if she would like a cup of tea. We had a good laugh! ~L.

Hi, everybody. My name is Linda and I'm Canadian. I'm about to embark on a long-awaited vacation in Paris, France, and would love to share my experiences with friends, new and old.
This will be my second visit to Paris. My first trip was back in 1984, which was long before the idea of keeping a "virtual journal" was born. I'm curious to see how my memories will match my current venture and am eager to find out. Let's go!... full info
