It's about time. I was about to say "why no blogs" but I understand. We ate this, we drank this, we partied here. You're too funny. Sounds like your having a great time and glad to hear you're doing some school work. LOL Just don't forget the best song ever "your love is like good toilet paper, it don't fall apart when the going get's rough". TiO
Hey Laura, I\'m enjoying your blog. Thanks for my pic, buen culo. Sorry you\'ll miss PaPa\'s birthday party, I\'ll be BBQ\'ing chicken and Tri Tip...yum. Let me know if you find any voluntarios for my favorite organization \"Tios Sin Novias\"
seasickness Hey Lil Laura,
The trick to not getting seasick it to keep eating. No fruit for breakfast, eat bacon, eggs, sasauge, toast with butter, you know, lots of grease. Then keep eating (you should have no problem with that LOL) fried chicken, chips, hard boiled eggs, whatever. Ginger snaps (with real ginger) are also good for seasickness. Don't look down at the water, keep your eyes on the horizon and think of all the delicious fish under the sea you could be eating.
Did you know your Tio Aaron almost got into a fight with the Chili Peppers. Before they were famous they were staying at the same Vagabond hotel Aaron and I were working at and they were partying late at night when we were trying to sleep, Big Aar went down and told them the shut up!!!! Their manager had to calm things down before some rocker got a beat down. "Do not mess with a tired construction worker"

Are you Tico yet? Laura, you have a blog! And I'm all up in your Guestbook, ranting about how jealous i am that you're in Costa Rica learning Spanish on what was supposed to be "our" trip, while I sit at home studying a language I hopelessly fail at--Arabic--?comprende? I have to be honest, I've yet to have actually perused all of your bloggings due to my being a lazy bastard, but I did check out all of the zip line pictures of you and pops and laughed heartily for at least 5 straight minutes. I don't think I've ever seen your dad looking so thrilled on life, except for maybe when he finishes b.b.q'ing a delectable batch of buffalo burgers. Wow, on a side note, I'm laying in bed looking out the window in my living room and there is this fat squirrel waddling along the fence with a full size pancake in his mouth. . . somebody is definitely going without breakfast this morning. It's tough living in Berk., where even the squirrels will rob you blind. Anyway, I miss you! And I can't wait to hear how you're doing, and how the people are treating you, and how you like the food, and what future activities you have planned, and what the meaning of San Diego really is. Talk soon, primo. ---Abe
PS: I just realized it is not necessary to end my post with my name, like you wouldn't be able to know who wrote it if i hadn't. The post will show up as from me, with my name in the member box to the left of my post <------- over there. I feel old. Fml.
Hey Lil Laura, love the blog. You\'re a very good writer. I\'m a little disapointed you only have one photo of a hot babe... photo 23. LOL.
Keep it up, Tio
Yum How much fun are you having. Photo's made me hungry and can not wait for you to cook for us and speak to us in spanish. Sending my love Aunt Doreen
Aww thanks Michelle! haha I was shocked my dad went upside down! I told one of our guides after I did it that he was way too scared, he proved me wrong! Hope all is well chica :)
So brave! Awe! So happy to hear that your already starting off with some lovely adventures! Love the pictures, I'm going to have show your pop's picture to my dad and tell him to step it up! Haha
Big hugs to you!
Your Awesome TravelBlog-- OMG I love it! First, I laughed outloud at the canopy photos--especially the first one of you upside down--pure joy. After reading about your dad's ceviche experience... I am impressed that he too was hanging upside down the next day! A real trouper. I will take more time to navigate the site, but think it will be wonderful way for us to follow your adventures. Sooo excited for you Laura--pura vida. Love, Aunt Cheryl xoxo
Hello loved ones! As most of you know I am about to embark on a life changing experience. I leave this Saturday, August 27th, 2011 for Costa Rica. I am so excited for this upcoming adventure in the jungle, as well as the challenges I will face in my attempts to learn and communicate solely in Spanish. I have no doubt that I will return to the United States evolved in some way, most likely for the better. Anyway, I thought I would create a blog so that I can more easily keep all of you updated on what I'm doing for the next four months. Feel free to send me messages and leave comments!
