Stay warm!
Hi Guys, It sounds like you're having a wonderful experience! Your weather must be warmer than it is here. I've had to have my morning cafe con leche by the fireplace several mornings lately -- minus croissants :(. Nicer way to warm up than with fish "soup", I'm thinking!! Enjoy your week, Betty

You made me laugh!
Great writing....I laughed out loud.....I love eating but I am afraid of that fish soup. Cherie

Envious!
Looks like a great adventure so far, Larry and Maureen! I spent only a few days in Barcelona during University and absolutely loved it! I can't wait to go back one day. Enjoy your time there and good luck with the past tense ;)

the game
The game the older gentlemen are playing is Xiangqi, known to us Westerners as "Chinese chess". Very popular in China, almost unknown to anybody but your game-playing nerd-cousin outside. Very entertaining and illuminating post - thanks for sharing!

Did we really do all that we did!!!
Thank you for this entry L & M. It is interesting what the passage of time does to reality. In many ways the trip seems a bit surreal but sharing it with friends is changing all that. Thank you for making the trip a better one for me by being there. It was great to see you both again. Keep in touch.

Loved your perceptions and observations.....Kansas it is not!

Hope you both have arrived safely in China. Looking forward to seeing pics you will post. The map of visit points looks as though you plan to cover a lot of turf. Travel safe.

Hola Maureen!
Sounds like you are doing fabulously! I love the stories and photos. Don't you just fall in love with the children. I have been checking back once in awhile since the mudslides back in Feb. I was sick at the time (a south american flu compliments from the man in the next to me on the 12 hr ovenight flight from Santiago to LA). I've been meaning to write. And now your time is almost over. You've been to many of the same places I went in 1996. I hope you make to Machu Picchu. I read that they were planning to have it open by the end of Apr. cheers, Barb (South OK GF Group)

Love those little people
I found your observations of the daycare very interesting given I have worked in the field. I can't wait to hear more of your travels in person. I look forward to your final blog. Cherie

condors
I hate to mention this but I think I recognized pieces of condor on those plates of food at the buffet...

I know what you're saying...
After ten rounds of Jose Cuervo, I too am fluent in Spanish. I'm thinking it's genetic. You're giving us lots of laughs, but you're way more trusting of the drivers and roads than my heart could ever take. Stay safe..and keep the stories coming. Love. Marion
