Sheltering in place
Yes, that reminder of being in the at risk population is annoying but it is what it is. Really enjoyed this blog.... thank for sharing. Dubai will be there waiting for you. I'm glad Tazamagician is attempting to rack up frequent flyer miles. Too bad he can't get them and share them with owners!

Sheltering in place
Right now my horses are doing more travelling than I am. Another horse that I have a small share of ran in the Fantasy Stakes at Oaklawn Park in Arkansas on May 1st. Their frequent flyer miles would make a nice bump in my account, though I think it will be awhile before I feel comfortable getting in a plane.

Not bad! I would say being holed up in a “Chez” anything definitely has perks. Don’t worry you’ll be traveling to the UAE before you know it. In the meantime stay safe and well.

Not bad!
Thanks, and you're right, I'm pretty lucky to be safe at home. I really feel for people who are stuck someplace they don't want to be, like guest workers in parts of Asia and the Middle East.

Quirky museums
There you are back in Singapore and visiting those odd little museums. Have fun.

Back home again
The river walk sounded nice. Each time to come at the city from a different perspective.

River Walk
I like walking along the river. Sometimes I'll just sit and watch it for a while - but saying I'm watching the river doesn't sound very interesting.

Thanks for making history come alive.
I used to compete in dragon boat races on the river mouth. While I was aware of some of the history of the area, you really made interesting with your focused snippets. I must have walked past that mosque a dozen times without thinking much about it.

History
Thank you for your kind words. There are so many times in Singapore where I will walk past a building and wonder what it was when it was first built - there are a lot of stories there. I highly recommend the pamphlet "The Singapore River Walk," put out by the National Heritage board.

Happy New Year Karen
Looks like you are having a good time and enjoying retirement. I am happy for you. The weather is cold but we haven't had allot of snow. I am ready for summer already. We are thinking about where we will go next but no big plans yet. We are enjoying a leisurely life. Keep in touch!

Retirement
Retirement is a wonderful thing; I highly recommend it. Good to hear from you, and I'm happy you are following along on my adventures. PS. I do NOT miss snow.

Winners are grinners
Was it your horse "Sauce on Side" that blew them away on New Years Day, Karen? Winners are grinners no matter whether you were half a World away!!!
13th January 2020

Winners
The New Year's Day winner at Santa Anita was Tizamagician, another horse I have a very small share of. His sire was Tiznow, and his dam was Magic Union, hence the name. Sauce on Side was claimed out of a race last spring and is now racing in Florida. I no longer have an ownership interest in her.

Tizamagician

Holy crap!
A winner.... look at your smile.

Tizamagician

A winner
Actually, that picture was taken before he won anything. He's just such a handsome devil I can't help smiling. There are some rumblings that he may be a Kentucky Derby contender.

Singapore
Singapore is one of my happy places. Even though I've visited here often, I always learn something new.

Incredible creatures
Ahhh, horses. Such magnificent creatures--I never tire of marveling at their beauty! And you're looking great, Karen! Happy New Year and safe travels always!

Incredible creatures
Tizamagician is such a good looking horse that standing next to him makes me look good, too.

good memories!
Although stopped in Singapore a number of times, but mostly during stopovers, still walking down Orchard Street brings back the memories. Great capturing history of Malay Motors. Thanks,

Memories
Singapore does such a good job of repurposing buildings. Yesterday I went to the Asian Civilizations Museum, part of which is housed in what used to be the Treasury's strong room. (Think the Singaporean equivalent of Fort Knox.)
