Fortescue Roadhouse ~ from memory! From our diary notes that we transferred onto the Travelblog pages, we only stopped for an iced coffee there. Obviously it made a lasting impact on us!. We spent the previous night in Karratha and hammered straight through to Exmouth with another brief stop at Nanutarra (where we saw the naked man in 1998, who left me with that unforgettable phrase of "Don't forget to have a beer before the sun goes down!").
So where would I recommend? I guess I would have to say, drive through if you can as I have no alternative to offer. Best wishes, Jack

We have banked up some leave and are taking another break in Australia. We hope to avoid some of the more commercial stuff and do a bit outback. We fly into Perth to meet family. Then over to Melbourne to meet freinds. Followed by a flight to Darwin to meet up with our eldest daughter and boyfriend. The vehicle is bought and fully prepared. It has been serviced by the best Mechanic in WA at J&K Autos in Perth so there shouldn't be any problems. Toyota Landcruiser, 4.2 diesel, 4WD, long range fuel tanks, Engel fridge and all the camping gear with tent on top. It's currently being driven by Lisa... full info
