My second week in Siem Reap has been even better than the first. Making strong connections with the other volunteers and feeling really comfortable in our city means that Siem Reap has become a lovely home for us all. Getting to know locals and picking up some khmer language (particularly 'sorry i have no money' or 'no thanks i ride my bike') has helped us deal with consistent badgering from salesmen. The atmosphere of Siem Reap is addictive. This week we started teaching our classes about plants, mostly what they do and dont need, as many of our students' families grow their own food. however theyre not educated in separating their farming plots so alot of land becomes unusable overtime as nutrients are unable to reproduce within the soil. the kids quite liked this topic, especially
