Students get up at 6.20 am to start school at 7.20 am they have 1 and 1/2 hours for lunch then finish at 5.00pm. If they are borders they return to the classroom at 6.00pm for a further 3 hours study. If they go home they are expected to do the same at home. All teachers are expected to be in from 7.20 until 5.00pm however they only teach 2 45 min lessons.The rest of their time is spent planning and marking the work of the students. I hope you are impressed as i am up at 5.45 to use the hotel computer as the hotel has no wifi so I will therefore be unable to use the ipad and send any photos until Friday when I move to another hotel. The school was amazing and i was treat like royalty. The students are all incredibly intelligent as they have to pass an exam and they only take the very best. The parents have to pay for their children's education at this school the campus is huge with beautiful gardens and the site is surrounded by mountains. I have never had such a hectic schedule in my life.Ever since I got up at 4am this morning I have never stopped and the welcome meeting I attended this evening was crazy crazy crazy more about that when I come home.I met the principal and the translator who teaches English in the school (every one is jealous of me because his English is superb and will therefore be able to help me so much) My schedule in school tomorrow looks just as busy as today I believe I will be doing a presentation to staff then will be observing some lessons where I will be expected to comment upon.I will also be working with students and the number kept increasing as the night went on so it could be 60 or 3000 .I have just ... read more
An exhausting journey here no sleep for 24 hours however I feel totally rested after 7hours sleep last night After arriving to Beijing yesterday we went on a tour of Hutong on a rickshaw fantastic then went for a Chinese meal at a restaurant the locals use Some very interesting dishes that I have never tried before and probably won't try again Today we went to the Hanban and dressed in traditional clothes it reminded me of when I was a little girl playing at dressing up ... read more
The flight was 11 hours long I left London at 2.20pm yesterday afternoon and because of the difference in time it was breakfast time here when we landed We have to wait here a few hours then we are off on another flight to Beijing where we will be taken for a sight seeing tour and something to eat eventually arriving at our hotel at 10 pm ... read more
