On the morning of 1st of October, Ed and Ellen hired a car, and the four of us headed off to the west from Brighton in the direction of Stone Henge. Our first stop was at a small town called Arundel which had a church, a castle and a pretty town centre. It was at Arundel that Ross enjoyed his first sausage roll for the entire Europe trip. After Arundel we headed into Portsmouth but we didn't really find much to see there and it was really hard to find a place to stop and park. After Portsmouth, we headed to Salisbury where we planned to stay the night and to the nearby attraction of Old Sarum which was the ruin of an old castle and cathedral prior to the establishment of the more recent town
