I disagree about being humanitarian is one of the reasons for mistreating animals. wold say quite an opposite. But in general, all statements quite agreeable. That's the variety of cultures, economical stages for us to compare. But sadly, India brings me to conclusion if oldest civilization got to such point, humans are the worst animals.
how about Kashmir is it the same garbage problem as rest of India, and if to divide, which places the most and which the least covered by garbage?
I agree, garbage and poverty is as big impressions of India as touristy sites, just amazing how tourists avoid the theme. I was looking more for other info, but glad i read this and saw how well it can be reflected in the blog. i could not do such.
Good experience Hi Kenny,
I enjoyed reading about your experience while riding to Pangong Tso. I had taken a shared cab, since I was already tired after my two day bike trip to Nubra. Now that I have read your piece, I can easily imagine what it would have been like, if I had taken a bike. Cheers.
Need Help Hello, I am planing to Leh this Sep.(2nd to 16th). I plan to hire bikes from Leh. Just wanted to know in case if you can share about the rent they charged. We want to hire two bikes (Royal Enfield Electra/Std. & Thunderbird.
Waiting for your reply.
The Thunderbird can be hired for between 700-900 rupees per day. If you hire for a long period you should be able to get a discount. Prices can also rely on how much business is being had. When I hired in August, there was shortage of enfield thunderbirds for hire because of high season. A full tank of fuel which can last just under two days solid riding can cost between 800-1500 rupees. hope this helps. If you go, I guarantee that you will have the best motorcycle ride of your life!
Make absolutely sure that you carry spare fuel cans with you. Many of the very few petrol stations do not have any petrol stocked.
eye-opener! ...this is how I suppose I imagine half of India to be..slum-dogs with the more globally embarrassing details included! ....and to think that I felt so pleased with myself for filling a bin liner with beach flotsam, leaving it to be collected by a neat rubbish truck..... to end up helping to perpetuate the swamping of India in their own waste, as well as ours ....... what are we all about Tom! ps. by the way, I loved your published article...well done you. X
