After being discharged from the Canadian Army (for using his father's name and being underage) H D Kelley took off to Red Lake, Alberta by motorcycle, re-enlisted at the ripe old age of 17 in August 1942, fell in love in Bournemouth, England while training, landed on Juno Beach on D-Day, was treated for shell shock for a short period back in England, went back into battle til the war ended, served in Berlin an extra 2 years after V-E Day in order to marry my Mom, Doug (and Hazel) made it back to Canada on the last war brides' ship - on the passage back dad guarded Canadian Zombies.
