keeping it real...buddha style hey guys! good to hear you're living it up in India. Sorry to hear about Keif, (Karen can certainly sympathize about mysterious stomach bugs...) Oddly enough, I never really got sick in Southeast-Asia. Karen got most of the mosquito bites as well. She was probably the best person go travelling with...gotta love her magnetic personality. ;-) Keep the updates coming!
Wowza! Totally awesome guys!!! The camel trek looked amazing. Glad to hear your having great experiences and that keif is feeling better. Good luck with the interning Blythe!! Try not to fall in love with your camel keif....I know its tough but its better this way- you'll avoid a broken heart in the desert.
All the best!!
February 8, 2006 We are thoroughly enjoying your funny, interesting, and well written entries. Great pictures!! So glad your mom sent us the link!! Continue enjoying yourselves!!
Are you sure? So I hear India and Thailand are actually the same place...is that true? I bet the lovely beaches in Delhi are great, not to mention the cool dacquiries you sip while sitting on your elephant throne surveying the local pyramid building endeavors. Such excitement! Man, I love islands... Just don't spend too much time riding dolphins or playing polo with your gallant steed, the local delicacy known as COW.
All seriousness aside, India recently issued a call for extraction of all foreigners with zero bartering skills going by the name of Keif.
Cool Apparently that Buddha being engulfed by the tree is pretty well known...a picture of it is on a brochure hanging up in the Chemistry building in Madison about travels to Thailand...crazy.
Dec.26 It must be great to experience Christmas celebrations in an entirely different culture. You are lucky to be learning so much. Your blog
entries are very interesting. Love reading them.
All my love,
Grandma Gerry
i like the shot of the two sheep a lot, but also the one's of the mountains with the rivers in the foreground because they remind me of riggins, id, well, not right in riggins, but the thirty miles before riggins when you're just driving along the river's
hi guys so i noticed some great things about your latest post from thailand. to start the teacher at the cooking house's name is some poon. no, seriously. your message made me think about how dazzling the world is. how, when you travel your eyes are always so wide, trying to take all you see into your memory. it gets so overwhelming for me, and depending on the trip i usually have to peace out from time to time, missing out on some of the truly great sights in order to be able to appreciate the next ten. the part about the enormous reclining buddha reminded me of my 8 day tornado trip to beijing where every second was a mad dash to see and do. at many of the sights i'd have to go off by myself as much as i could and try to take in the small stuff. at one particular sight i missed china's tallest buddha. i was too late as i had dawdled some. i don't feel sad i didn't see it, and am in fact a bit glad because during that trip i learned how i need to travel. i don't exactly remember what i saw instead, but i recall being captivated by something, so i guess that's enough. oh, now, back to what i started with. ben carps and i discussed this eyes wide, awestruck travel mentality once. both of us agreed that it would be cool if we could take that sense of amazement in our surroundings home with us. or at least conjure it up as often as we could. so, thanks you guys, for going on this awesome trip. it definitely inspires me to take more in my life, but also has reopened the posibility of travel in my own town.
ODP Hey you two. I am psyched for you both to be living a dream. It is one thing to day dream of traveling around the world, and another to actually follow through with it. It's fun to read your entries. Have fun and be safe.
Nice hair cut, Keif! Happy Holidays, Elizabeth
Happy Birthday Hi Keif and Blyth,
Want to wish you a happy birthday Keif. It is the 7th here but the 8th where you are so will send this on. Your travel blogs are wonderful and so interesting to follow you on your trip.
Love you both, Grandma Gerry
WOW! Man, you guys are really rockin' over there! Full race, eh? (A little Canadian fo' dat ass). I like the new haircut Keifer, did you burn the dreads in some sort of ceremony? HA! Well, find out all the cool places and we'll go there with you in a couple of years! Have fun in Thailand (tie-land?) later.
Jealous Hi Keif and Blyth,
I truly am jealous. This is a wonderful site. It is so neat to be able to see your pictures right away. It looks like a beautiful place and sounds like you are having a wonderful time. Keep in touch, it is so much fun to read your "blogs".
Love and take care,
Grandma Gerry
Cavin and Kritters I am a few entries late to wish you "Good luck, and have a great time," but it seems like you really are having a blast! The travelblog is a fantastic idea. I am green with envy. Are there horses in New Zealand?
The best on your trip. Well kids, apparently it has reached this point. The point where i get pissed that I took it easy and am taking five years to graduate whilst my peers gallavant (is that a word?) around the world. Playin ' and basking in the glow of this wonderful planet. As keenan did, so do i, wishing you the best on your trip and safe return home...wherever that may be. I have some pictures from the city of rocks trip that you would get a kick out of...but i don't know how to throw them up here...yet. anyways. please keep in touch, either personally or via this webpage. Much luv.

Don't mess with me! Well Keif and Blythe s, looks like you've done it again. You have come up with one hell of a site that will inform me promptly on all your adventures. Almost as if you are gloating and rubbing them in my face. But as I am the first commenter on the "TravelBlog" I suppose there should be some words of encouragement. So truthfully I wish you two the best on this grand adventure! You will be able to see much of a beautiful world that is yet to be infested by American money and greed. There's always downer times on trips (as I have experienced) but those only help to make the good times that much more enjoyable. I will be thinking of you plenty and wishing you a safe return.
Blythe and Keif are traveling the world for a little less than a year.
We are planning on visiting New Zealand for about a month, then on to S.E. Asia (Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos) for two to three months, and then over to India for the remainder of our journey. We hope to volunteer doing environmental work and public health work.
Thanks for stopping in.
We'll keep you updated.... full info
