So we arrived at a hostel and the owner was an Italian man who seemed nice at first and we got a dormitory room with several beds, dropped off our things and left to see the town. We had to stop off at the bike repair shop first because one of the guys wheels was bent. I helped him translate what repair he wanted, and it was interesting translating between Spanish, English and Bike terminology, but in the end they did a great job for 20 pesos. We set off to get some breakfast and found a café and tried quecas, something I had never had in Oaxaca. Then we saw the plaza and a beautiful church and walked around.
