Kama Sutra...
I can report that there is plenty of good common sense, at least in the KS... It surely beats the Bible and the Quran teaching what true loving sexual intercourse is all about! BTW... there is plenty of nudity in the Bible, too! 1 Samuel 19 24 2 Samuel 6:14, 20-23 Isaiah 20:2-3 But nothing in the Bible matches the Kama Sutra!!!

It's a joy to hear about your adventures. Sounds fascinating, and such a relief from the political maelstroms that swirl around us guys here in the nation's capital. But, other than reports of the devastation in Iraq, and the apparent near-collapse of our legal system under Fredo & Co., though, all is generally wonderful here. love

loving your postings
Hi Kerry, just wanted to let you know you are being read. Great descriptions of what you've seen and where you've been. Thanks! Tomorrow is Easter and we had a half-inch of snow last night. Freeze warning for two nights running. So you're not missing a thing here (cept the cherry blossoms were quite nice pre-freeze.....) Stay safe! Beware of ice cubes! Linda

Devouring your descriptions!
Hi, Kerry! I am hanging on your every word and observation and so wishing I were there with you. (Fate knew I was to stay in the states this month, however, as the house of our dreams suddenly fell into ourl aps and we are CA homeowners!) I have read so many, many novels of India over the years and what you describe of living conditions is exactly what I have read. It is stunning to think it is still that way in 2007! Can't wait to see you and your pictures! Love, Ann

Sounds awesome. Especially the chaotic traffic. Thanks Kerry.

I can't wait to see those spectacular pictures. Take a couple pictures of the traffic, too. It sounds pretty crazy. I can't imagine sharing my commute with camels, elephants, rickshaws, bicycles...

Boy, this really sounds like it's going to be a true adventure [I haven't caught up on the other BLo. I can't wait to hear all your war stories. Sounds like Pat is a real character with a ton of streets smarts. Hope you're enjoying yourself.

Glad to be your first roommate
Hi Kerry -- You seem to be the one who is on the ball when it comes to travel preparations. I've picked up a lot of good tips from your research already. Thank you. I, too, practice yoga and a bit of meditation although I'm firmly fixed in liberal Christianity, which invites everyone to the table and learns from all forms of spirituality. Many of my cousins were born and raised in India as their parents were missionaries. My uncle started a school in the Orissa provence, to which untouchables were attracted to as a way to elevate their position in society. (I'm sure for other reasons, too.) I've read several books on India but the only movie I've seen Is "Ghandi." Am looking forward to meeting all the wonderful people on our trip. Anita Fussell

Home Sweet Home!
Oh, what beautiful picts of DC! Snow makes everything so pretty and peaceful. Still, there’s no place like home. In DC, the snow laces the trees, blankets the roof tops, and paves the streets with a brilliant white that sometimes lasts for days. In New York, snow has only a few precious hours before snow plow trucks come to rip it up from the road, piling it in disgusting, rock hard, icy mounds of brown gunk on the busy street corners. Then, endless droves of single-minded commuters trample through the remaining slush on their way to punch the clock. Not even roof tops are a save haven; tall, pointed sky scrappers drip with pigeon-pooped, melted goulash. And the trees….what trees!?! Unless you’re in Trump Tower peering down on a serene central park, there are no trees. So whatever you pack, take a little bit of DC with you. I’m sure that at least once, while you’re basking in the sunlight over there, you’ll miss it. Happy Trails!
