... Fortunately for you, you got my looks too! ... and my luck. One or two learning experiences there, my son!
Now I'm really envious - the sights and sounds of the world are not to be missed, but the experiences are what the greatest memories are made of! Hope you enjoy the next 5 weeks as much as the last 5.

Sweet as! Chris,
Sounds all very, very good! Loved reading your stories and enjoyed the pictures.
For how long will you be traveling in Oz (and where)? I'm in NZ at the moment but will fly to Melbourne on the 10th of April. Would be great to catch up again for a beer or two. And without me having to catch a plane this time ;-)
Safe travels!
PS. I added your blog to my blogroll on http://leeghoofd.wordpress.com (my blog is in Dutch but my photosite on Flickr.com is in English)
Be frightened!! Hi Chris, I thought I had raised a mature intelligent man, I was wrong. I now realise I have raised a complete idiot (you must take after your father in that respect!) Luckily you got the good looks from me so you have got still something going for you.
I am now going into stern mother speak......if you do anything as daft as jumping down waterfalls where people have died again I will:
a. Take you out of my will and you will get nothing!
b. Even worse ....I will be on the next plane over to sort you out.
So be frightened, be very very frightened as I will also bring your other mother, your very bossy but loving sister Emma with me!!!!!
Your ever loving mumxxx
Most entertaining entry so far, maybe its because it contains so much suffering! Humping bananas does n't sound so fun! Am off to japan and china for a couple of weeks soon myself, will avoid banana plantations! T
"Oz Cops call off search for lost Brit" You've not been abducted by aliens at least! I was about to call the Commissioner in Brisbane but seeing the spliff in the pic after your first day... just as well I didn't! Sounds great - i just hope there is a better savings strategy than Em managed so that all this is worthwhile for the 'play hard' part. Could do with a reply to my last e-mail, and a call wouldn't go amiss (+44 1604 780005) to sort out 1 or 2 details.
D'oh You should have told me you were doing KL. I have a friend who lives there who would have been more than happy to show you round. He took Anna out when she was there a couple of months ago. D'oh.... Glad you enjoyed it anyway.... Keep having fun.
Pricey x
time you got a job! G'day Bruce!!
Need an update - where's the builders bum?
If you're frightened and alone in a dangerous country just think what it's like here - not only has your mum started driving again but she's doing it with one leg!
And talking about dangerous, your 'switch off whenever women talk' comment might add a bit of spice to life when you get back. Good luck!
Anyway, must go sunbathe - it's in the 30s here. How is it there?

Alright Chris, am liking the journal. sounds like an adventure and a half. must confess i'm struggling to make out the rare dolphins in your photo! Wish i could pop over to visit for the weekend! laters. tom
CLIMBING I'm so pleased that you have finally discovered how good climbing is. (Even if you had to go half way round the world to do so). Have a good time in Oz.
Overcame it like a man? I mean really Chriffy over came it like a man? Erm...hate to break it to you but it was kinda more like a six year old girl...with blonde pigtails. My father and my brother, I am a little embarrassed for you both! Dude I'm up to Laos now (i kept forgetting to make the comment) and I'm so jealous I could cry. Keep havin an awesome time and if u do end up on a construction site i want a piccie of u in the hard hat and flannel shirt!!! Xx
bill bryson in the making... good lad! quite the budding travel writer, aren't u...? i enjoy reading your blog to take me away from the 9-5 grind in cold, rainy england...

Green with envy.. Hey Mule,
Glad to hear you're still alive. I'm so jealous. You're having the most amazing time. I'm planning on travelling next year so we'll have to get together when you get back and go through the LP together :)
I thought I'd make you feel even better by letting you know that I'm currently sat in the 60's concrete mostrosity that is the A.S.S. library in Bristol. It's freeeeeezing outside, although we haven't had any snow down here. I was up all night until 5am working on an essay which is due in this afternoon (tha's what I should be finishing off as I'm typing) and I'm full of cold so feeling doubly poo. I'm going to snuggle up with a DVD when I get back and sleep. My weekend will consist of mostly work as I have another essay due in next week - this time it's 5000 words, and I don't think I can take another all nighter. Ah... the joys of uni. Do you miss it?
Keep having lots of fun. It's a shame you weren't in KL just a little bit later. I have a friend who lives there who would have quite happily shown you round, but he's over in Bristol at the mo and flies back early next week. Sorry!
Take care of yourself - and wear sunscreen!!!
Love
Pricey xxx :)
looks v fun, def better than the rain here! Am v impressed with the journal, have even told tessa to do one when she sets off round the world next week! Seriously though, trying to take pictures of dolphins - leave it to the proffesionals, otherwise you end up with water - like you did!!! Have fun in OZ
xx
Where is the next episode???? Hi Chris, I keep logging on but you haven't added anything else!!!
Sooo... can we have a weekly update please with lots of pics.
The only thing that is happening over here is that we appear to have hit winter... just as I start driving!!! I think the combination of leg, car, ice and me might be somewhat frightening!!!!
Must be fantastic all that sunshine. Let me know where you are and how you got on with the job.x
Sad to see that your extended and expensive worldwide education hasn't improved your grasp of reality - reminds me of New Zealand where your recollection of bungee jumping was also flawed !! And your quad-biking was a bit suspect too, as I recall.
I'll book our next dive ready for your return and see if you've the bottle for sharks ... if you can go deep enough!
Good to see you know how to enjoy yourself. My turn next!
Well it looks like your having a great time which is good and I must say in a couple of those photos the body is looking very nice.....better than in the dream I had but we won;t go into that!!!!!!! or maybe another time!! Keep having fun and keep up the up-dates.
After 22 years of education I embark on a round the world trip of (hopefully) epic proportions. Seeing 10 countries in 6 months is the plan, whilst trying as many new foods, sports, and experiences as physically possible! And, at some point, decide what to do when I get back...... full info
The idiot you take after ... apparently!
