:) hey julia! its isabel (seekatz?)
you are quite a lucky girl, to be living in italy...wow.
but don't apologize for something that came from your heart--those are the words that mean the most.
Bravo Julia,
Reading your blog is a pleasure. You write extremely well. And I am so jealous @ the coffee... sigh...
Robert wants to know when you are going to play volleyball... he is so annoying...
Annjam
carried away Julia, please don't apologize for your writing style. It is beautiful. I am so enjoying reading your blog. I feel like I am there, too. Thank you. And *@#! anyone who suggests your writing is self-important or too poetic. It's just lovely. Like you. xxoo
don't be sorry for anything! Julia... truly enjoying your messages... keep on going. I know it's difficult to do when things are coming at you so fast, but for those of us sitting in computer chairs 6,000 miles away, it's always interesting, whatever you put down. You were chiding yourself for getting all descriptive and everything; don't: that is when the real writing begins. Your internal dialog is always more interesting than lists of things you did or saw by themselves. BTW, it's a true mark of generation gap to say you didn't take pix because you forgot your phone. I still use "cameras" to take pix, but that's just me. Anyway, why would you need a phone on a hike? Oh, I forgot -- to make dinner reservations, of course! Best, Tony
Great to read your writing. You are not too wordy. And great to see the photos. Please post more. Can you take photos at school? Not during classes I imagine, but you can probably take photos during breaks?
puzzle I loved your story about the puzzle. And am so proud of you, of course. But I'm also so impressed with your writing style. Very, very good. I'm getting to be in Italy, too! Thank you! xxoo
food! Julia,
Thanks for including a fabulous description of the food you are enjoying... I think I gained 3 lbs reading about it...:) If I ever go to Italy I may die from cheese overdose...
Jam wants to know about the volleyball scene... the girls beat Fort Bragg this week, losing the first two games and coming back to win the next three... very exciting.
Take care, have some cheese for me!
Annjam
happiness I am enjoying reading your posts and you have just made a slightly getting older woman remember the joy of happiness and just where it comes from...thank you for giving me strength. I know your parents are extremely proud of you...and you should be of yourself!!
Are you checking your email occasionally? Where do you do your Internet? Were you able to get Italian SIM card for your iPhone? So wonderful to be able to read your blog. Please keep at it. The more the better. Great observations. Dad

can't wait for next entry! Julia,
You are on a trip of a lifetime me thinks! Enjoy every minute and keep us informed (as much as you care to of course). Except for the smoking environment, I wish I could have stole away in your suitcase!
Take good care...I await your next entry!

Despite my objections to blogs for their narcissistic nature, I have decided to write one during my year as a foreign exchange student in Italy. I will update it maybe once a week, and that way I minimize my time spent sending informative emails, and I have a little public record of my trip. I hope it's entertaining!... full info
