Joe, Your pictures and detail discription made me feel as if I were there with you, and it was a wonderful journey. You'll have beautiful memories. Great Job.
Hi Joe!
So today was read-all-of-Joe-and-Dina's-Blogs Day! Quite an nice change from sitting on the couch and watch TV as I patiently wait for my knee to heal. I think I was able to bring myself back to Peru and Mexico temporarily! But now I'm back in my SF apartment, realizing that I much rather be there with you. I remember climbing in Monterrey and those nasty thermal baths full of not really hot water and hair!Continue to find adventure in each remaining day,and I'll see you in a few days!

Good Reading I thank you for the travel logg you have created. I had very little to read after the hospital and your "novel" is great. Look forward to seeing you.

Hey Joe- Its great to read all your stories! It sounds like the last little adventure was a dozzie! I look forward to catching up when you get back. You didn't mention any pretty lady in her 30's yet who has stolen your heart. You need to get on that before you come home. You should know that Red Bluff and I are still going strong. But now he is called Grange. Grangeville Idaho that is. Its a long story but I'll leave that for a chat over a beer. Lots of love- Josie
The Joe Scanlon Group: Travels Vinnie - thanks for sending out your blog. It has been a pleasure. Have to admit it has been hard to read it all in one sitting with a toddler in the house. Glad to hear you are living in the moment there and taking it all in: it took me a long time in S.A. to get to that point. The pics are great. I downloaded them and will show em to Sarah tomorrow.
Your blog is bringing back a flood of memories from South Africa. How lucky we are to travel abroad. Too bad laptops, digital cameras and blogs were not the norm in 1996....I would have gone to town.
Dad is doing OK, although you can never tell with him. He told Pat he didn't want to be visited till he was out of the hospital. It is unclear when that will happen. It sucks being far away with this going down, but I'm not sure Dad wants assistance at the moment. I will keep you posted if anything changes.
You are probably begining your hike with Mark as I write this. I hope you guys have a great time. Consider yourself lucky to go on a hiking trip with that big lug. Just four days with him at YAC was not enough for me. Hope he got a good deal on his plane ticket or you're gonna hear about it for the whole trip!
Anyway, never done this blog thing before so I hope I didn't violate any cyber rules with this epic comment. Hope your hike goes great and looking forward to the next blog.

Stay Well... Wow Jose'!
Just read the whole epic to date. Looks like you are gaining some serious depth and insight into that sense of place. I am noteing the changes in your tone from one paragraph to the other. Thanks for the great stories...They bring a chuckle. Sounds like its going to get pretty deep soon. Happy trails for now!
Safety first Don't get hurt Joey. Don't fall, don't get burned, don't get frost bite, and don't put an eye out.
Seriously, be safe, have a ball. I'm so psyched for you.
Peace bro.
Ohh the sweetness and exhiliration of travel and adventure! It is apprarent that your reading skills have paid off in your writing style. Excellent memoirs that clearly paint the scene, draw an amazng picture and explain the effects on the soul, what a great way to share. It's like I get to travel vicariously through you! I'm amazed that it's you first time off the continent and stoked for your experience. These are great moments of imbibing life!
Hola I guess you are having a great time. It's winter time and Lima is just full of fog. You can tell how americanized Lima is now, and even Cuzco too. My country is full of history and traditions that have survived through generations. As you know now, the food is great. By the way coffee sounds good to me all the time. Say hi to Jake and I hope you two don't get SOROCHE.
Patricia
Yeah Joe How awesome it is to read about your adventure Joe. I am living it vicariously through you. Imaginining a Solstice festival at an ancient ruin in Peru sure beats hot, humid, flat, croweded Philadelphia.
Be well, drink bottled water, eat food that hasn't been washed with bad water, nurture dreams of the "sexy woman" which can cause a sore neck, and dont' get all puky puky.
You go girl.
Step into the swirl "retire to dreams of bright spinning colors over deep mysterious canyons at sunset"?
We seem to have lost Joey to a south American vortex of ancient, primal psycadelia.
