Hey Mrs. Paul Thoreaux So great to read about your new adventures - can't wait to hear about the elephants. I just read this book water for elephants and I've told mike that I want an elephant for my birthday. he says it shouldn't be a problem. i hope he's not lying. Miss you! xoxo!
The Elephant Sanctuary I've been reading that book that you lent me that I have yet to return, When Elephants Weep, and I was wondering if you were going to spend time at the sanctuary. I cannot wait to see pictures!
I loved reading about your train ride, what a great way to see the countryside.
Awesome Wow! It all sounds great. And the ease with which you are doing all this traveling and transitioning tells me you've found a good fit in the shoes of a world traveler. Breathe into an elephants trunk for me and have fun. All my love, Mama
Hmmmm... You are slackin on the updates here! I have been waiting to find out whether you got the job or whats going on! Keep us updated girl! I am glad you are having so much fun in the process of waiting though...wish I was there!
Love it! Girl, I can't wait to see you and hear all the stories. Why didn't I quit my job and go with you! You really are in Paradise and I'm on my way to L.A., the concrete jungle. Big difference. Hugs and loves!
Poor you Gee, Honey, if I'd known life was going to be this tough for you over there I'd never have encouraged you to go! It's tough work, as they say, but someone's got to do it. I only wish I could be giving you a hand!
Love,
Mama
Sounds like you're having a blast, bugs and all. And to think that you left the US so you could get hammered in Thailand. That's my girl! Wear sunscreen, drink lots of water, and remember to use a condom. There's some cute dudes in your bunch...
xoxoxoxo
Reminds me of... Ok, so when you were in Bankok (I know you are no longer there) all I could think of was Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom....now you mention big bugs. If you have ever seen it....it has a couple parts where there are these HUGE ugly disgusting bugs. Anyways, I figured I would put in my 2 cents. :o)
Ed's comment on Thai whiskey is incorrect. All the legally distilled and distributed whiskey (ie Sangsom and Maekong), which can be found easily anywhere in the kingdom, never makes anyone blind. The extremely rare cases of blindness from drinking are caused by the use of methyl alcohol as a whiskey's substitute or the mixing of methyl alcohol in the drinks.
Awesome! You look and sound so happy! One thing tho - that Thai whiskey is illegal in the US because it can cause BLINDNESS amongst other things. Go easy lady.
WOW..... I LOVE THE PICS! It looks and sounds like a whole nother world over there. I have been checking this thing wondering when I would see pics and stuff. Then today I realized I had not checked it in a bit and sure enough you had two new entries with pics. The one with the god holding the snakes is funny. I am glad you are having such a good time. When do you start working? Or did you already?
I am travelling toThailand to get certified in TEFL and to do volunteer work at Elephant Nature Park. Everything else is unplanned and will be left up to chance and fate. I've never been to Asia before so this should truly be an adventure.... full info
