Congrats Well done on finding Sydney - about the same time as Captain Cook took. Jason (Lynn's son) lives in Sydney but is coming back to UK for his Gran's funeral. It would be nice for you to meet up once you settled in. Recommend you get over to Manley beach for a swim and lunch at the best fish restaurant in the world 'White water' on the front.
Love Uncle G and Lynn
Arrival in Australia Well done Jay and Jenny! What a brilliant journey. Thank you for all the blogs and pictures, I have really enjoyed them all. All my best wishes, thinking of you, Dad and I are really looking forward to seeing you both in Sydney in January. Take care, lots of love Mum/Kath xxx
Hi guys, thanks for all the updates on your travels. IT is has now been part of my daily working week and going to be a bit strange that we wont receive these anymore - it was a bit like having my own personal Judith Chalmers!
Hope all goes well in Sydney and you manage to get sorted with a job and accommodation soon. Sure it is going to be a great start to another exciting adventure.
Spk soon xx
Memories! Wow! Thank you for bringing back memories of Malaysia for me. We loved the monkeys on Penang Hill, especially when they started nicking food out of the bins, cheeky little monkeys! Ha ha!
Carry on the fun, miss you xXx
Hi.2J's Hello this is nee jenny lynn! I have just purchased a lap top,so I am a beginner, but I thoroughly enjoyed your 'blog' even though I didn't know what one was! Your dad sent it and Frank and I were very impressed. It is lovely to see the places you are visiting, you make it so interesting.I agree with Michelle, you are the image of your dad now Jay.Keep safe ,love Auntie Jenxx
It's so right that your dad thinks you two should be travel writers. Really should think about it! I've had much joy reading your journey as you travel by. How's your backpack gaining weight, not by the pound I hope? Are you heading to Singapore in the coming days? I remember Katong is a pretty and quiet area with a lot and A LOT of cheap and yummy places to eat! Have a great time! Love Betty xxx
Ping Pong! Hello Jay and Jenny in Vietnam.
Ho Chi Minh City sounds very interesting especially the sporting activities, I actually enjoy the occasional game of Ping Pong, are the Khao San girls good at it? i supose the rules will be slightly different! Sorry you had earache, no doubt you were very brave and never made much of it to Jenny. Lets not forget the past suffering the Vietnamese were subjected to, lets hope the future will bring them contentment, they certainly deserve it. What a great experience you both are having, enjoy the rest of the trip.
Love - take care.
Dad
Cambodia - Rise Again Hi Jay and Jenny in Cambodia.
I gathered by your comments that you found the tragic past of Cambodia a moving experience, how could another Human inflict that kind of pain on another Human, it's beyond belief, LBJ has a lot to answer for. I cannot bring myself to hope that you enjoyed Cambodia, i will say "I hope the experience you have had in Cambodia will help you appreciate your life better"
Love - take care.
Dad.
Hammock Wish I was swinging in a hammock - so unfair! Instead I am in the office (first day back after hols) about to feel the delights of a 3 day tube strike. There is no justice in this world.....!
Love reading the updates, miss you...N xxx
Hello Laos I have been reading all your comments, all i can say they were cleverly compiled, peppered with wit and a dry sense of humor - great reading, I think you have both missed your vocation, should be travel writers!! Unfortunatly i have been unable to view the photos which Jenny had taken and included in the Blog. Quite funny actually, I complined the the Internet provider here in Saudi Arabia that the Photos have been blocked, they replied that on the Blog there were adverts (with photos) for "Beautiful Thai Woman seeking Love" The Saudi Commission for the Virtue and Protection of Morals had complained - hope they were not just picking on Me! Anyway Kathleen is saving all the Blogs, i will look forward to viewing all the photos-which i gather are superb.
Love - take care
Dad.
Yowza! I'm reading a book set in these tunnels at the moment. The descriptions make me want to be ill, let alone the claustrophobia of seeing you in one Jen! Brave lass ;-) x
T shirt Dad says "change your bloody T shirt". We know it's an old favourite but it's in nearly all the pictures. Only joking. It's a very nice T shirt, and I'm sure it's very comfy!
Well you pair, the trip just continues to sound amazing. I was so excited to read this blog entry... it's a country that I am really keen to visit. I've read so much about the regime - I bet it has had a really profound effect on you both. Keep the blogs coming, I love to hear where you're at and what I'm missing out on! Travel safe, lots of love from back here in Manchester xox
Hi Jay and Jenny, enjoying blogs and brilliant photos very much. You are seeing so many places hard to keep up. Didn't like the sound of the journey in the sleeper bus though!!! Take care and enjoy yourselves. Love Mum/Kath xxx
Hi Jay and Jenny, as i am sat in my office ,looking out onto the raining city and streets of Birmingham looking at your pictures and hearing all your news it is a refreshing change. Sounds like you are having the best time, what a great experience you are having and think of all the memories that will stay with you forever. Beijing is not how i imagined it at all, and i think it is def worth a visit if not for the cocktails alone!
All is good here, Rob did tell me to pass on his deepest love to you Jay - he is still crying every night now that you arent in the UK and we are already planning a stop off in Oz to see you................
Look after yourselves, stay safe. Big hugs , Michelle x
Can't wait for Mongolia Hey you pair, brilliant to see you both fit, smiling and ultra happy in Beijing. It feels like we're all a million miles from Cambridge. Have loved catching up with you pair for a beer. Pics of Mongolia rock, can't wait to get there next week now, I'll pack my sports bra Jenny :-) To all the other blog readers out there, Jay has now shaved off the beard! Yep, I was dissapointed too! Travel safe xx

Who is the Strange Guy? Hi Jenny,
Uncle G warned you not to speak to strange men! Where is the clean shaven young man I handed over to you on your wedding day? The man with his arm around you in pic 10 looks a bit dodgy. Both take care, enjoy the freedom of life. Love to you both. Mike.
email Thanks for the email. Glad you having a fantastic time and Jason is growing a beard? Don't talk to any strange men called Ghengis.
Take care
Uncle G and Lynn

***UPDATE! This blog is from our travels back in 2007. If you want to know what we are up to more recently with our two boys, head over to www.travelynnfamily.com "
The Lynns are moving to Australia!
Rather than taking a flight like any sane person would, we've decided to embark on a rather long winded journey. The challenge is to travel to Sydney over land and sea, not allowing ourselves the luxury of flight. The journey will take us through many countries from Latvia to Siberia to China to Malaysia, with a few more in between, finally landing our feet in Sydney.
We've set up this t... full info
