Knew yer would Being in America is like being in a movie, everyone's dream, melding into that big silver screen. Weird thing is Americans don't get it but they are usually super friendly and helpful and I am not at all surprised that you are having such a great time. We are also happy after a hectic exciting two weeks with friends from Canada, got back yesterday from wooden yacht sailing races in Bodrum in which we won a cup and ate, drank and talked far too much so I am frasgile today and hoarse. Keep on going. Love pat
Tragus Nerves I notice that a strangely high number of travel bloggers have these "I lost this" stories... like your friend leaving her purse at the gas station. Knowing that this isn't exactly a common occourance, especially when being abroad, Im wondering which is true: (a) Are travel bloggers more accident prone and like to party instead of explore- (b) Are travel bloggers bloggin because strange things happen to them- or (c) are half of the stories (not yours of course) fabricated to make a good blog post?
Fatherly advice Its lake Pukaki my Mt. Cook. Cant you rotate your pictures so we dont have to turn our heads? I suggest you Party back in jolly ol England and see more of a place you might never go back to. Yes, you can call me dad. Toodles!
Immigrant Worker Ha ha, you're totally a migrant worker! You hate your job? imagine being a mexican coming to California to work on the grape vines and wine vineyards- illegally crossing a dangerous border, making $40 a day under the table for working 10 hour in 37 degree heat, sending half of that home to your family and not even speaking the language. I think supplementing your travelling by pruning vines in Beautiful Blenheim is a good deal! ha ha.
You make good friends travelling Hi Julie
We're having agreat time with my old friends from Canada, Dick and Sharen who I met in 1970 when they were doing their post-university travels and Fraser and Shary who were their university friends and made it to Turkey a couple of years later. They all arrived last Friday and we have laughed, talked, eaten and drunk far too much ever since. Maybe you'll still be seeing people you met on these travels in 35 years time when I'm long gone.
Safe journey to US.

Life without music OK Jules, this is the next test en route to becoming a complete grown up person - living without music. Look at it this way, your generation is the first to have been brought up with music on tap at all times. The Walkman was only invented in your lifetime, so comparatively recently music was only available when in the presence of radio, or some sort of stored music player. Not too far to regress - we live without music and so can you - or take up singing.

Heading home eh? Hello again, sounds like you're surviving - just. Spoke to Leyla in Preston yesterday, poor bugger had been travelling for about 40 hours so we just had a quick chat and the big one is now scheduled for Tuesday evening - I think she's going to Wigan to see Lauren today. You'll just miss them as they leave UK 13th for Cos then here about a week later, then back to Thailand in early October. Anyway must get off as we have a busy week and friends from UK arriving next Monday so somewhere this week I shall have to clean house.
One day I could be cleaning 'cos you're coming!

Me again Well I get the idea you hate the job. Re Brazilian music we saw a film called 'The Lost City' a couple of weeks ago directed and starred in by Andy Garcia it's about Havana before and during the Castro takeover in 1959 and the music was superb - go see it if you get the chance. Otherwise not much to add as I just e-mailed. Keep chopping those vines and counting the dosh.

Don't give up Julie, You seem a little down in latest blog, don't give up. Hotmail could not be working 'cos you haven't used it for a certain length of time,
they regularly wipe out accounts that aren't used. But, hey, what do I know. Enjoy NZ and keep blogging - by the way how long are you planning on being there and where next?

I'll be in Blenheim in December Hey Julz,
Fantastic about your job! How great to be working in that industry - surely there are perks for working for a winery. I'll be in Blenheim at the end of Dec as a good mate of mine is getting married there in a winery. You'll have to give me the heads up on the best ones to go visiting and scope out where the local talen (if any) hangs out LOL.
Possum Fur Jumpers Hi Jules I've just read your recent blog. Glad you have arrived in NZ safely. The possum fur thing is soooooooo funny. Hehehheee....... that will teach the bloody possums! They keep making such a racket on my tin roof in Redhill, they keep me awake all night. One would think the possum on our roof is the size of a whale by the noise he makes.
Anyway take care and keep us posted with your attics.
