Jaime, glad you are ralaxing, and enjoying yourself. After viewing these pictures, we have started to remodle your bedroom and bathroom here so you will feel more"comfortable" next time home. And definitely that new kind of dryer(utility is raising rates)
Have fun at the beach and we will see you in two weeks at SFO
Dad
Ha! look at the fish at your feet! so funny but about a week or 2 ago there was a craze about fish pedicures in VA. it was in the Post and on the news. my initial reaction was a cringe, too, james so i'm there with ya. but good for you...at least the blisters are off your feet :oP good to hear from you, xoxo.
Glad you arrived safely. Today is the first day that I have gotten on e-mail to get to your blog. Jocelym and Uncle Sully told e you had one. Some difficulty with e-mail at GMA's and didn' t have time at the hotel. We missed you at the wedding. Kait looked beautiful and it was an incredible wedding!! From the church to the reception! Had a great day at Uncle Joe's with everyone there except for Elizabeth who was helping in the Medical tent for the 3 day breast cancer walk! I will get better at responding to your blog when I am home in my own environment. Dad and Jeremy leave tomorrow and I am going home WEd.
Be Safe!!
Love,
Mom
glad you're settled and safe! hey girl! i'm sorry we missed each other before you left but i'm so happy to catch up with you via your blog. things have been busy...we have tons to catch up on...my schedule is kind of up in the air for the next few months so i'm not sure when i have free time, but as soon as i do i think a visit in order :) love you soooo much and can't wait to see you/hear from you again...
xoxo
Look at you, Miss Adventure, diving, climbing, improving foreign relations; they should get you on a discovery channel show like "man vs. wild" (which is the best show ever) - it can be "Jaime vs. Wild" or "Woman vs. Wild", though you'd probably get sued for copyright infringement on the latter. Travel safely home, good luck with the long flight and the jet lag!
The local dinner sounds awesome - it sounds like Mr. Roger's Nieghborhood, with all sorts of people just stopping by out of the blue to measure tea, visit, and teach you about local arts and crafts!
Glad to see you had tanaka on. Thanks for all the info, now that I know all about it I don't need to venture there to experience it. You're saving me a ton of travel money!!
The stupas look amazing - what an incredible area. I can't believe about the airport situation - talk about a rough way to start a trip. And then the "in-house money exchange" - sketchy. Glad it all worked out - did you get any pics of you downing the chili peppers? I imagine all these locals gathered around the "crazy white women with the iron stomach".
Ok, Jaime, read back over your blog and insert a quick "Why would Jaime travel to Myanmar when..." in front of every bulleted statement under the heading "government". How did that not scare you, or any reasonable person, off??? However, from you experience, it sounds like it was safe, and i'm sorry I didn't go. Nicer than people from laos?
Ah, there the photos are. Love the one of the workers in the field - change it to a sepia color scheme and you've got the classic vietnam war style photo.
The photos aren't showing up for some reason. Glad you liked Vang Viang - I thought the tubing was a lot of fun, and the caves were pretty interesting too. I look forward to hearing about Burma.
