We arrived in Ko Pha Ngan in glorious sunshine with the promise of a beautiful wooden hut on a cliff, overlooking a bay with a sweeping sandy beach. Also, importantly, an infinity swimming pool. Just for the record I did not know what an infinity swimming pool was, prior to this week. It was lovely on Sunday afternoon, before the SOBP (storm of biblical proportions) began that night. In fairness the rain has abated somewhat since then and now everything just resembles Bognor Regis on a dreary December afternoon. Please note that we are not complaining, but our pale skin is returning. It was also different on Koh Tao (Turtle Island), where it was gloriously sunny. Incidently we can actually see Koh Tao from our balcony and I now understand why it is called Turtle Island.
