celebraties! What a marvellous experience. Seems like you have made quite an impression on the locals. You all look well and happy and we look forward to hearing of your forthcoming adventures. Love form Amy's Mum and Dad xo
Fun Weekend I am sooooooooo jealous.......of the expedition to the salt pans of course...not of being dumped at the side of the road when the bus broke down!! But JAFA wins again...and you met so many interesting people while 'commuting'!!! (That's definitely NOT the correct expression of what you did but will do for now). Hope you get to the Rhino sanctuary without too much hassle.
luv Mo/mum xxxx
Breast is best Hello and pleased to learn things are (mostly) going well. As a nutritionist, I have to weigh in on the breastfeeding issue ...if only to say keep up the good work. Africa is often thought of as THE part of the world where one least needs to promote breastfeeding because it approaches universal levels. But EXCLUSIVE breastfeeding is another matter. In many African countries it is not the norm. It is only in the last few years that the benefits of exclusive bf have become really clear (and that it has been shown that 'mixed' feeding is the very worst thing when the mother is HIV+), so maybe the man you argued with is just out of date. If he was trained in Africa, it is quite likely that the curriculum was old, the textbooks ancient and the access to journals minimal. But keep on arguing! I noted that the last blog spoke of a lack of compassion on the wards. I hope you've not seen too much more of that. All the very best - Paul
Hey Amy, it sure sounds like you are seeing a lot. Keep up the good work. We just had Day one and team dinner in America Diner in Union Station. Quite nice to have the team here, makes it all more worthwhile!
loved your story Hi Amy,
I loved your story about the handwipes telephone massacre but I am sorry to hear it. I am leaving Friday myself for rural France and am packing everything that might ooze in double ziplocks. Thanks to your story, I am keeping those nasty plastics in business for the week. Love, Ginko
Hi Hi JAFA This is my second attempt to write a comment so hopefully this will go through. Glad you have arrived safely and good luck with your first day in the hospital. Look forward to reading yuor blogs. Love from W, B, J and B!!
Greetings! Glad to hear you have all arrived safely! Only Amy Maguire could end up having her handwipes leaking all over her phone...classic! I would love to say i'm surprised...but i'd be lying!
Safe travelling to Francistown tomorrow...
Gaborone Glad to hear you are there safe and sound. Sounds like you had minimal problems for such a long journey. Looking forward to more news when available. xxxx
