Kozhikode here! Hi Linda,
Touching blog indeed. Those children of the colony were wonderful. We have similar colonies here in Kozhikode and had a few U.S. students spending a few days here with us learning more about peace and ghandhiyan ideals. If you have time drop me a few lines. There a lot to share and teach each other. I wish you well. Take care and God Bless!
Cheers,
Kris Kandath

Mosquito Go to the market and buy a cheap mosquito net. Use it when you sleep. This is the most cost-effective, natural, and easy solution for the problems of insects in the night. For the first few days, you might feel uncomfortable but slowly you will get used to it. If you feel hot because the mosquito net sometimes prevents air generated by the overhead ceiling fan from circulating well, buy a cheap table fan and place it near the bed so that you can feel the flowing air. This is a very common practice in India. Close your windows just before the sunset and do not open them till sunrise. These two steps can help you take care of the problem of mosquito bites at night.
You can also use some products like mosquito repellent - "Good Knight", "Casper" to drive out mosquitos in the night. These can be found in any local grocery shop. However, these products leave a smell inside the room that many people can not tolerate. Moreover, the long term effects of inhaling the chemicals emitted in the form of vapours have not been studied in great depth. Many Indians use a natural fumigant by burning dried neem/eucalyptus leaves to drive out mosquitos just before closing the windows before the sun sets.
Keep up the good work.
Regards,
I'm having technical difficulties That was quite a dissertation there! WHat stikes me most are the deep words you use in your videos. I was trying to subscribe to this thing and don't know if I did.
shizzle Girl you safety issues are nothing compared to the creepy crawly factor I just experienced looking at the video. What was that? An earth worm. What are they feeding them - small children? Woah.
I love your introduction - I feel updated and briefed.
So I'm trying out this whole blog thing (instead of sending out mass emails)...I'll be posting pictures and writing about all the crazy stuff that happens out here. If you're interested, check it out...... full info
