How's this for interesting? My mother was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. (she was pretty but she wasn't spicey either) My grandfather and his brothers were early settlers there. When they arrived, there was nothing but wide open prairies. They built their homes and barns by hand and took turns using the two horses to till the fields. The extreme conditions and poor harvests became too much for them and after 12 years they all returned to the US. I'll bet it doesn't look like "Little House on the Prairie" anymore.
Beautiful Canada This has got to be the most beautiful scenic journey of your trip, Rick and Kathy. Makes us want to trace your route in Canada when we get to visit you sometime next year. The photos (all of them) are genuinely priceless to keep in your memory book and I'm glad to see the main characters of this travelogue in them. And the girls (Roxy and Sabrina) look very cute and fashionable in their dressed-up outfit. I especially like the way you coin your words, Rick. (Mom sez just like me but I think you're better.) Anyway, I enjoy reading about your experiences in Canada and the humor you interjected into it. This is my third reading of this Canadian Travelogue and I'm still laughing about the white card that Sabrina found from under the bed at Delta Bessborough Hotel. Excellent write-up and good to hear that you all made it safely back home.
The Trip Back Home Wow! Two Casinos in one day. Well at least one was profitable, Kathy. I'm glad for you. Hey, it's too bad that beautiful hotel is trying to milk the tourist just to walk on the lawn fronting the hotel. But not too bad for one day...made some dollars, exciting jet ferry boat ride, at least got to see the "Somewhere In Time" location, and the best fudge candy factory in MIchigan (or in the world?) Looking forward to more photos of your journey through Canada. Have a fun and safe trip.
The Wedding Good photos of the wedding party, Rick. Was that from Kathy's steady hands? Everyone look happy at the wedding and having a good time. If Jon and Tracy are reading this comment.....Congratulations and a long and happy strong marriage to both of you. (Rick's dad).
Enjoy the Travel Log. I notice in the great pictures of the CWC stores with Kathy in it holding a large shopping bag at her side in all but one of them. The CWC stores had a good sale with a hefty 50% disc. that I too would have taken advantage of it. That was a perfect idea to use a baby carriage to carry those pair of cuties everywhere you go! We hope you had good weather during your travel.
Happy To See Your Travelog Seeing your belated travelog means you, Kathy, and the kids were on track and made it safely to Kalamazoo. After not seeing any log for many days, I thought you guys made a detour to Hawaii before heading towards the East. Wishful thinking! Hey, great photos of Kathy at CWC Stores, the kids waiting in their private buggy, and the best looking Capitol buildings along the way. We'll be checking in to see more photos and reports of your journey. Have a great time there.
anticipating!!! We are looking forward to seeing you. Only hope Lynnie will be happy to see her nieces. We know she'll beglad to see you two.
Safe journey!!! Mom
You must be warrior class! What a long cold journey, but in a bit of luxury! Eat delicious food along the way and beware golden arches! And be safe! --- brother Marcus
