Ya shudda paid St. Pat's..... You just should have paid admission to St. Pat's instead of giving it to the mugger. Too bad......sounds like you're having fun. Have a Guinness or two for Nate and me.
Happy St Pats Eliz made it to the G. factory. Hope you get to go also. A friend was just telling me about their sheep. I think he called them Jacob Sheep. Can have multiple horns. Big dudes that like to butt into unaware people who get in their way. Beware of innocent looking sheep. They have cousins! Enjoy your time in Ireland. Mom's people came from Scotland into Ireland before coming to the US. May not look the part but you too are part Irish! Spring is here--for awhile. Not counting on it to stay. Take care.
Good to hear from you Henry, it is good to see you survived the attack of the flying monkeys (as well as the sheep!) James (age 7) was especially happy to see the flying monkey photo. Your hair in that photo looks a lot like his right now.
So it's boring here too!
Have fun in Ireland. I would wish you the luck 'o the Irish, but actually what with the potatoe famine and all...
Anyway, remember, St. Patrick is Orthodox!
Go n-éirí do thuras leat! (The language site tells me this is gaelic for "May your trip succeed with you!")
God bless you!
Margie and Mark
Hamlet? If you wanted to see Hamlet's Castle, then get thee to northeast Zealand - Elsenore Castle, to be precise. Didn't you ever read Shakespeare?
Thanks for the post. Brings back some fond and not so fond memories of Denmark. I only got to Jyland once; saw an enormous pig on the way to Legoland.
We miss you at St. I's. Happy Great Lent!
Hi-hi.
Hey you!!! Hello there dear Henry!! I'm back in Denmark now! Sounds like you've been having a pretty good time so far.. What is your phone number?? So i can write you a text or something, so we can figure out when we can meet.. My cellphone no. is +4540892182
I see from the pics of all the eager young people on your blog that most everyone is drunk, insane, American or all of the above. Must keep you from getting homesick. Miss your face around the Pub. Awaiting the next blog........
Yep, They're from moles... Pretty self explanatory from the title... the mounds are from moles... the little critters work hard... which is how the danes came to run the world too.... decided to have a beer to celebrate... and well the rest is history...
On the topic of beer... we should go have a few when I get back to Denmark...
Cya!
So it's education you want? Henry, So glad to get the update. We're signed up now and should receive notification when you post. Again, thanks for doing this blog! You look like you're doing well! Isn't it interesting -- and educational -- to find out how "higher education" works in another country? Take care! Margie
Moles... Are you sure those mounds of dirt are from moles? Because it sure would explain where the hell all the dirt goes from my backyard when Halo takes it upon herself to digging gigantic holes all over the place... I've been saying for months now that I think she must be digging to another country, maybe it's been Denmark all this time. Would you mind bringing it back on your way home? I would hate to have to buy dirt. Can you imagine paying money for dirt? Seriously, no traces of any dirt from the holes themselves, just giant spaces of earth gone, like land mines went off in the night. Just a thought... Miss you! But, hush, don't tell you that I said that.
I'm jealous Henry, I'm so jealous that you're in Denmark! Sounds like you have a fantastic adventure in front of you! Have an amazing time!!! Can't wait to hear more!
Wishing you the best Sounds like a very nice town. I hope you have the time of your life, and enjoy this immense opportunity. Looking forward to hearing more about your adventure. Jealous, but damn happy for you.
Wow Can you believe you are there? I am still amazed that you can wake up in your own little bed and go to sleep that night half way around the world. Try to study a little between beers. Have fun. Find your cousin. Praying for you to excel in all. (Except any contest involving beer consumption.) I enjoyed your bogging. AA
Damn. Jealousy in abundance. However, I see care packages are welcome. I love sending care packages. When you start getting home sick for something, let me know and I wold be happy to oblige!!
wonderful liquids and such Glad to hear of your arrival, I'm not looking forward to traveling across sea either, messes with your head to skip a day and all! I'm looking forward to beer and wine being a natural progression of the day and good beer and wine at that! Thanks for keeping us informed!
good gracious me oh my! U.S. schools should take notes on how to run their operations! Beer after class and "beer stations" in each building?! Sounds like a dream I had once...
I bet that place has some cool history from the 1930's / 1940's based on its location. Get the down low or low down and inform a brother! (why am I talking like this?...)
The pics are awesome. Keep 'em comming!
Jeg ikke taler danish Henry,
So good to get your blogsite! (Your Mom passed it along)
Great idea!
I'm passing on the info to Mark. The photos are beautiful, thanks!
Also, if you go on a historic tour, some of the historic sites may indeed be the beerhalls.
I'm going to get out the danish/english dictionary because I could have sworn the above phrase was actually "Jeg taler ikke dansk" but it's been so long since I was saying "I don't speak danish"
I haven't found a website that translates english/danish the way I think it ought to translate. (This could be my problem as I only had a conversational course in the language. I actually frightened myself when I began to pronounce a couple of traditional phrases correctly. Still, I encourage you to get familiar with the language if you've got the time.)
We found Denmark hospitable, especially when they know you're visiting.
You will remain in our prayers, as always!
May God bless all you do!
Margie
