Wonderful blog! Hans, I feel that I was right there with you, enjoying the beautiful sights and the delicious food! (Although I don't know how polite I would have been when faced with the pig snout!)
I'm learning a lot from your adventures- keep those blogs coming, and have a wonderful academic year!
Hugs!
Coky
Great summer!~ Hi Hans, I can tell you must have had a great summer! It's awesome!
Looking forward to the other parts of your trip...
See you very soon~
Taizhou Teachers College vs. Taizhou Normal College Our school has changed its name to Taizhou Teachers College. That is in fact what we are. We prepare China's Youth to become teachers of English. The name Teachers College expresses pride in the profession. The name Normal College does not demand much respect as a translation in the West. Thanks for visiting. By the way, I love Wuxi, and Qingdao is on my list for a visit. Thanks for the invitation.
i stayed in Wuxi this summer vacation i have just been back to school in Qingdao .i spent the summer in Wuxi to visit my uncle's .he has a Sichuan Cuisine restaurant in Wuxi, which is just at the back of Wuxi Railway Station. And i know Taizou.there is something i would like to point out ,that the english translation of the school is wrong.however,it should be Taizou Normal College.if you would like to visit Qingdao, just write me E-mails at alexdon1988@berrymail.cn,i am Alex
such a nice trip i am here in Tsingtao, Shandong province. i think you must have heard of it .welcome to Qingdao, i would like to be the free guide for you
Oh, I'm sooooo envious! Hi Hans
What a fabulous trip! Definitely on my "to do" list. Looking forward to the remaining blogs from this trip- and even more to catching up and listening to your stories in person next year. 2010 trip most likely second week in May. Will only be 4weeks, so not really enough time to catch up with everyone and travel to the NW, but we'll see! I've finally started back with my blogs. Edited & loaded up an additional 6 blogs worth of photos last weekend. Hoping to finish the trip this weekend, so I can free up some space on my computer. Then I can get on with publishing!
Hugs to all, Suexx
Memories As I look at these pictures, I go right back to my German and Spanish classes at RHS in the early 80's. I remember taking similar pictures with you, and I still have those pictures! I always looked forward to your classes not only because they were interesting and informative but also they were a blast! I loved hearing your stories about growing up in Heidelberg and also of your travels. I miss those days so much. Life was so much easier back then; no worries, no cares, just being carefree and still a kid. I am glad life has been so good to you. You haven't aged a bit!
Hello Herr Schneider Hello Herr Schneider: Really, really interesting your adventure! I am really happy you are doing very well. All the students from Coral Gables are happy for you. Thank you for being the best teacher. best regards. Vytis Mickunas.
hallo schneider! thanks for the travelblog... it's always great to keep tabs on your incredible experiences. these pictures and facts (especially about the buddha) were fascinating to read and see.
sooner or later we wish to see you again and we miss you as always. love you!

I'm coming! My Hans! This is my first time coming to your travel blog. I'm happy you are fond of our country, maybe now you regard China as your second motherland. That will be amazing! You have a complete trip on Dragon Boat Festival, and you've made a wonderful description. Yeah,I'm proud of being a native of Taizhou! But you might know more about my city than me. So whatever else happens, I'm always with you ,when you need me, I'm here! Keep contacting!
Hello from Munich Lieber Hans, vor Jahren war ich mit Hermann bei Dir in Miami. Er war in Sorge wie es Dir wohl geht. Habe jetzt Deinen blog entdeckt. Hermann möchte Dir gerne schreiben. Bitte gib mir per email Deine Adresse. Alles Liebe und Gute, Ruth
May you happy,Hans! Hans,I am one of your students in the Nanjing Normal University Taizhou College.Yesterday,I came to your travel blog for the first time. The beautiful pictures and words really impressed me.
You have travelled so many places in China, and left your footprint in that place. You view everything so beautiful, and consider the people so beautiful.Actually, you yourself is so cute.Because in your heart, there is full of love and enthusiam.
We are really honored to be your students, although just for the short one term.During the past term, you give us too much. Before every lesson, you gave us some realistic suggestions, which is very useful.
No exact words can reveal the very feeling of my heart now.Just extend my sincerest wishes to you.Hans, may you happy and healthy for good!May your family happy forever~
I was student of Herr Schnieder 25 years ago at Revere High School in Massachusetts. He is a great teacher and I only wish my children could have had the chance to be taught by Hans.
After 38 years as a Foreign Language Teacher and Foreign Language Dept. Chair at Coral Gables Sr. H.S., and A.J. Professor of German at the University of Miami, I have left Florida in June of 2006, where my home is in Miami Beach, Florida, USA. I have just signed another year's teaching-contract (my 8th year now) with Taizhou University in the city of Taizhou, located about 3hrs north of Shanghai, in Jiangsu Province, CHINA.
I thought it would be informative for others and rewarding for me personally, to log the progress of my efforts from beginning to end, as a Travel and Photo Jo... full info
