It's almost like history text book. Thanks for good information & nice photo. I live in Seoul, Korea & like travel so I always serching for vacation destination. but even though Qingdao is near from Korea, Qingdao is always skipped from my travel list because the travel guide book provide not sufficient information like you & many Korean working there informed me there's nothing much. I decided to go to Qingdao next holiday. If you travel all around China, how about visit Korea?? There's over-night ferry from Qingdao to Incheon, seaport of Seoul. You told me Qingdao was occupied by German before but now it's occupied by Korean company. There are too many Korean & Korean company due to cheap labor cost.
an amazing city Hi, Hans, I was your student last year when you teached at Nanjing Normal University Taizhou College. I went to Qingdao last summer. But I went there by bus. It took me 7 hours. It's an amazing city which is impressed me so deeply. I'm so familiar with these photoes. Actually, I also went to Penglai and Yantai. They are two cities which are very close to Qingdao. Did you go these two places this time? They are also very beautiful. Btw, you look younger than before. Have a good day.

Jody is now married and has a new daughter and I will see Liz while in Guilin also.
Impressive! Hi Hans
How lucky for you to be given this opportunity. The buildings look amazing- at least most of them!!!
Here in Oz it's a bit difficult to organize tickets unless you do the group thing through a nominated "agent". Will make enquiries when I arrive in China. Apparently each ticket limits you to 5 pavilions per visit and these need to be reserved in advance!! Not really how I like to do things, but we'll see! I'm really looking forward to experiencing the changes that have occurred in the almost 2 years since I left China. Not to mention all the people to catch up with, of course!!! Arrive on May 20. Getting excited now!!!
Wow! Hi, Hans, how lucky you are to be one of those who visited the World Expo first! There must be many people there in these days, so i have to postpone my visiting there, and i am really looking forward to seeing it.

WOW I am currently teaching English in Shenzhen and family of our friends are planning a trip to the Expo. I didn't really have any desire to go but your pictures have sparked an interest in going. I traveled to Shanghai in September 2007 and probably wouldn't recognize the city now.
Rapid change I was in Shanghia a year ago, and they had just begun clearling the site which was an old part of town. At the time, I didn't believe they could complete to work on time. That they could start from scratch and complete such a magnificent expo grounds in one year is probably the most amazing accomplishment. In the U.S. we would still be having community meetings to discuss the Environmental Impact Statement and law suits would stop the project forever.
the opening of The World Expo in 2010 the opening of The World Expo tonight ,there are beautiful firworks performance!!!my wesitte(www.airmaxroom.com).thank you!!
I found out today, that the most of the peach flowers were gone, yet still very few are blooming at the peak of their heydays. The azaleas are to catch up, with buds just popping out. The drifting scent was thick in the air after such a wet and cold period on the first day with the sun shining warmly. It's said that over a hundred of varieties of peach trees were planted in the garden, true? And, there is an even larger peach and pear farm at either side of the road heading Qingtong, the mature fruit-bearing trees are more beautiful, a lady told.
After 38 years as a Foreign Language Teacher and Foreign Language Dept. Chair at Coral Gables Sr. H.S., and A.J. Professor of German at the University of Miami, I have left Florida in June of 2006, where my home is in Miami Beach, Florida, USA. I have just signed another year's teaching-contract (my 8th year now) with Taizhou University in the city of Taizhou, located about 3hrs north of Shanghai, in Jiangsu Province, CHINA.
