Inspirational Hey Dan, great blog post. It's been inspirational to follow your adventures and admire your photos. Kudos to you and your family for not taking the easy, comfortable route in life and instead taking risks.
Appreciation It has been wonderful sharing your adventures through this blog. I too feel sad that it is almost over. The impact on each of your lives has been every bit as enthralling as the travel tale itself. It has been inspiring. Thanks Dan.
thanks! Hey Dan and Cher, Charlie and Ella...I want to say THANKS! so much for making the trip so amazing for Sammi and Adam. Their highlights were surfing and of course and the freedom of the golf cart. They are hoping to try some version of surfing at the cottage, possibly taking up the new sport of paddle boarding ( a paddle assisted surfing to make up for the smaller waves)..Thanks for sending back a care package of cigars.. We really look forward to seeing all of you home very soon....
Back in time I really enjoyed following your adventure and your ability to be honest about the good and difficult times. I had heard Cost Rica was like stepping back in time, not too far but far enough to experience what our parents may have possibly experienced in a much younger Canada.
Thanks again for taking the time and making the effort to record your journey and making it public.
Thanks for all the research! Hey Dan. I've printed off this post -- great background research for my piece on retiring in Costa Rica -- I owe you a round of beers (at least!). Thanks again -- Anne
Incredible Dan! Hi Dan. I am finally reading this blog about Cheryl's mom now. I cannot believe the agony you all went through -- especially Cheryl's mom. I had heard a bit of what happened but had no idea it was quite so dire. So glad everyone is okay now. Whew!
Unfinished and Waiting Hey Dan,
You've become a good tour guide yourself and well worth the $5 tip. I had no idea you were going to Nicaragua, fantastic. But please continue Marilyn's story, you've left us sitting on the edge and waiting. Sounds rather harrowing. Hope you're all okay.
Thanks for the update! Hi Guys,
I am happy to hear Ella likes her new school. Loved reading your blog. Thanks for sharing your adventures. Does Ella write a blog too?
Creepy crawlies and reptilian beasties I can't help but wonder why one would say "cool" to an enormous spider, perhaps because one is in denial that they now are co-habitating with such creatures, mayhaps even poisonous? And Dan, last I heard crocodiles always win.
However, it sounds like an amazing family and life experience
Lovely writing Dan! I see you aren't just a songwriter but a great reporter as well. Your posts are full of great detail! Sounds like you are settling well into life in Costa Rica, but not without some road bumps along the way -- isn't that just like life? And you've got some gigs already -- that's awesome!
Anne
Great Post! Nice details, fun friendly tone - yay! Dan for governor. Or does this sound too much like a spam message. Not now, I bet. Glad you are settling in.
Song about Dirt Road possibly Hey Dan looking forward to your new song, it's there somewhere. Ella will adapt. Remember what Mom said about tears. Cry, moje djeto, cry, there will be less pee, or something like that. Give my girl and guy a big hug. Kisses to Cher.
See you soon.
Amazing Is the word for you's!!! Just going with the flow .........learning,experiencing ,Living!!! and each and everyone of you look naturally happy :) Kudos for living your Dream ~~~
Along For the Ride... Hi Dan et al!!

Miss you! Love you!
Kate xo:)
Looks beautiful, I can't believe how busy you guys are already! This is a great window into another world. Looking forward to seeing and reading more of your adventures.
A neighbor at our cottage in Parry Sound moved to Costa Rica many years ago. In speaking with him he related Costa Rica to Parry Sound in the 50s. I can think of no better reason to want to spend some time there!
Thanks Ted! I'm sure there are parts of Costa Rica that may STILL feel like Parry Sound in teh 50's... but lots of the tourist areas are pretty up to date EXCEPT for the roads.
