Knowing Your Way This sounds like a real nightmare, you expect the driver to know where they are going, but some of these cabbies are absolutely clueless. Even with GPS, they still can't figure it out. We had situation where one of our clients was in Mumbai, and they told us that the driver took them to the wrong airport. The sad thing is, our client didn't know until they actually showed up and he realized the sign did not match the airport on his ticket. Needless to say, he was very grateful he had trip insurance because he missed his flight.
That's a lot of beef Not sure how I'll be able to keep up the vegetable intake in Uruguay -- am thinking of shopping at the markets and making my own salads. They can be eaten anytime anywhere. Perhaps the thing to do is have salad as a snack, and then when in a cafe or restaurant order vegetarian pasta, potato or maize dishes.
That's a lot of beef Uraguay sounds like a much better place to escape to than other popular destinations like Spain. The beef diet might put me off though as I too like my veggies and salad. How do you think you will go eating out in Uraguay?
Uruguay Novels Hi,
Try "The Invisible Mountain" by Carolina De Robertis and/or "The Tree of Red Stars" by Tessa Bridal.
Both deal with coming of age issues for young girls and their families against the historical background of 20th century Uruguay and offer nice descriptions of the daily life and customs of the country. Both are well written and flow nicely.

Guapo and Guapita have travelled all over the world, and were planning their first international trip together - to Uruguay in October. Sadly those plans have now changed. And yes that's Guapo in the No. 7 jersey in the top left photo.... full info
