We survived the Inca Trail!!! Hey Brian! Good to hear you made it home safely...hope Montana´s was good! I know how deprived of good steak you have been (yeah right you scammer!!) Your comments about not knowing where home is almost made me cry...I know what you mean. You should be poet!
Inca Trail was phenomenal! But it hurt! We basically did the 4 day hike in 3 days...ouch! Our group was awesome..already met up twice with them (had breakie at Jacks) and the tour just ended yesterday. The weather and everything was perfect. Loved it! Wish you were here to share a 3 litre juice with but we will see you soon!
Julie and Fred
PS: The walking sticks were life savers!
Sure it was drugs?? Maybe they just wanted a bus with more comfort and found a neat way to trade with you :-)
Prayers for smooth riding over the next couple days while you are arranging for and on your final bus ride.
MacGiver-ing Sounds beautiful there, Brian. Definitely looking forward to photos from the salt lake.
So glad that you had a MacGiver (or is that Mc-Giver, as in a giver of much, done fast) on board.
Keep safe (and warmer).
Won't complain about 16 hour rides to Winnipeg anymore Hey Brian! Great to hear your stories. Sorry I haven't chatted for a while. I really REALLY won't complain about long bus rides in Canada anymore. We definitely don't have any chicken rides. I am continually impressed with your adventures and your ability to STAY SAFE. Please continue to do so and have lots of fun.
Cheers,
Heather
HEY Interesting reading... I hope you won`t have any more trouble with bus tickets and hostel bookings now;) I know what it is like; blrghhhg!
Times here are as usual. Nothing much happening. Easter holidays are almost over by now, back to work;)
Have a god one;)
Heal well Gringoloco, it appears that your usual good humour in working out challenging situations holds. Prayers for your knee healing (good food/vitamins/meds; wisdom to know how best to walk, sit, and self-massage for healing, etc.). Prayers for future good connections and wisdom of what to keep/know to demonstrate authenticity of your advance bookings.
So glad that you got a place to stay in BA. Also, it is really neat that you keep finding several others to share your journey. Safe travels in the time to come. Looking forward to sharing photos, hearing more details of the travels, and seeing you on your return.
Keep well!!!
Blessings.
Vanessa
You're makin me yellous Wow, sounds like a great time down there. I have some friends that work for Quark, they do tours down to Antarctica, that leave from Ushuaia. I think that most of them are home now but there could still be some down there. Patagonia will be amazing. Well, have fun .Kurt
Yo Gringo! Hey there! Sounds like you are really livin' it up down there, glad to hear you're able stay out of the jails! Can't wait to see your photo site, too. Ushuaia should be awesome, we had a cruise seminar last year that focused on that area. Be safe ~ but fun, of course!

skydiving Hey Brian,
I never even knew there was such a thing as sand-surfing. I hope you got pictures because I'd sure love to see it.
I thought of a joke about bunji-jumping (only slightly related to skydiving)
Two guys go to Mexico to start a bunj-jumping company, a way to make some money doing something fun and bring a new sport to Mexico. One guy gets into all the equipment to demonstrate and the other stays at the top to hoist his friend up/down. The guy with the harness on takes his first jump. When he gets back to the top he is a bit bruised. His friend asks 'is the bungi cord too long?' 'No', he responds. The guy hooks himself in again and takes his second jump. When he returns he is even more bruised. "What happened?," his friend, now quite concerned, asked. "I'm not sure - what's a pinata?"
Be safe and may any and may the spirit of understanding be present in all your communications with people there.
Until later,
Vanessa
Glad it was only Imodium Thanks again for the updates.
Remember, it is Family day weekend and reading week at school - that may be the bigger reason for lower reading stats.
Wow - what experiences you are having down there.
Stay safe and healthy.
Prayers for good adventures and safety.
Vanessa
Response from Indianapolis Sounds like a great experience. Can't wait to see your pictures. We are headed to Greece, Greek Islands, and Rome in mid-March. Planning a video layout for the church congregation.
Way ta go! Hey Brian,
I finally caught up with your adventures - this sand dune one seems to have been AWESOME - I've started a new job downtown Calgary, been there for two weeks so far and all seems good. We've finally had a cold day for winter..we've been pretty lucky this year. Oh yah....you play it safe in those neighborhoods with no other 'gringos'. Cheers, :) H
Brianiana Jones Sounds like fun buddy, make sure that your medical insurance is paid up, or you have some goats or chickens wiith you to barter with. Any ways, sounds like a good adventure thanks for the updateand have fun. Kurt
Biker Brian Hey Brian! Thanks for all the travelblogs. I'm home sick today which has allowed for some me time and to check in on all your adventures. Sounds fantastic! Shooting film eh? Provia? Keep playing hard and loving life! I'm going back to the couch now to rest up for my teaching tomorrow. Take Care, Andrea
Hey fellow biker Glad to see you overcome that fear. Sounds like quite the ride and also glad that you returned the bike safely.
Skiing was a bit more adventursome this time and I think I'm getting better. So glad to have someone to travel there and back and to ski with.
Today is our (Shaun and I) six-month anniversary, yet we did most of the celebrating on the weekend along with my delayed birthday celebrations.
I enjoy reading your travel journal. Thanks for taking time to keep us posted.
Prayers for safety, good planning, and many opportunities that become realities.
Hola adventurer!! Hi... it is interesting to hear how your expedition is coming along! You are certainly experiencing alot. I can`t imagine how it really is to live up in the small villages you are visiting now...man, the world is rich in contrast....... Here in Norway, life is good. Now, today, it is far better than good - Kyrre is on his way home (vacation)!!! I will pick him up at the airport- one hour from now!! Happywoman;) I doubt it I will go to work tomorrow, hehe.. Take Care!
It is so good to hear that you`re really enjoying your life , Brian!!! It sounds nothing but perfect to elegantly slide away from the "normal" life, and, living the way you do now, getting in contact with important feelings and sides of oneelf. Continue LIVING!!!!!!! Here, everything is good with me, and also with Kyrre in Sri Lanka. The baby is growing for each day, and yesterday I visited my doctor and was able to hear the little one`s heart beats!! AWESOME, yeah that feeling was just AWESOME.
Take Care;)
Hey Brian Glad to hear you're having a great time. Don't break too many hearts down there! It was great meeting you and thanks for your patience when my parents' car broke down on the ski trip. Vanessa says hi, and we both wish you continued good luck on your travels. Looking forward to your next posting. (It's -3 and snow on the ground here in Calgary).

We are going to Athens Greece, Turkey, and Rome (following footsteps of Apostle Paul) in mid-March. A 10 day trip with our church and guess who the group photographer is! I have a Nikon D-70 armed with a SB800 Speedflash - I hope to get some great images!! Please keep us informed. Mike And Jan
