Hey!!! I made it in here!! I smiled when I saw that August entry. I remember that summer. I'm guessing the song was "Hallelujah," yeah? You forgot to tell everyone about the SPRINKLER!! Ugh, that was the best part!! ;) well, that and the time that I beat all of your family at Nertz. I think you all combined your score....and I still won. Right?? :) well, that's how I remember it anyways.
Quite the compliment! (I'm actually 25) Thank you for reading my blog, Suragh. Yes, this adventure was an opportunity made possible through my university. I will commence my graduate studies this December and I am so glad I chose to grab at this amazing experience. I hope to return to India someday and see more of the amazing country and share even more with my countrymates.
All God's Love,
Angie
WELCOME HOME M'Lady... What an awesome turn of events. So blessed to be able to read all about your life-changing experience all from the comfort of my own personal bubble. I can't really begin to fathom all you saw and did, but I like to try and your blog is a glimpse. I feel the glimpse for me is through eyes partially shut, while I read about how wide yours have been opened...So proud of all you've accomplished and the little imprints of God and yourself that you've left all over this big world! I know ya got a piece of me with you, and a piece of you with me, so in some small way I've shared your adventure. Although I'm about to embark on a completely different kind of journey, my soul yearns to "fly free" with my soul sister! Can't wait until we get to be crazy together again. I love you sooo much! Happy you're closer to home. ~Mir~
P.s. LOVE the Rickshaw photo! BEAUTIFUL composition!!!
Are You still in School ? Hi dear Angie, Hope You had a nice time here in India..
Are you still in school ?? Is it grad school or High school ?? I cant believe it you are so young and had this big adventure.. Was it part of some kind of Academic related thing ?? You look a lot more mature than your age if I assumed correctly that you are only 20 ?
Hope you liked it here and will visit again . There is a heck of a lot more here for you to see...
Squeeker says... "It takes one day for the earth to go around the sun. So when it's morning in America, it's night in China or somewhere like India." "Do you know that cousin Angie is in India?" "She is? I love India. They wear dots on their foreheads and pretty dresses without stripes on their shoulders. I love those dresses. Does Angie live there now? Does she have a forehead dot?" "She is just visiting and learning." "I want to go to India too, will Angie take me next time?" "Uh, I'm sure she'd love to have you along someday.."
"Good morning, Angie" As I tuck her into bed for the night... Safe travels Ang. You are in our thoughts and prayers!
A girl after my own heart! You bet, I'll try to find some today. I learned how to make it...
One cup as follows:
Assam (or a spiced/black tea)
Masala:
2 Cardamon Seeds
2 Cloves
1/2 Stick Cinnamon
One slice Ginger
Sugar to taste
Milk to taste
It varies in each shop I go, but this is how I learned to make it on the mountains.
Love you to the US and back! :)
Masala Sarah LOVES Masala Chai. Actually, we called it African Tea, but I'm sure it's pretty similar. She actually bought a few packs of Masala spices to bring home, since she makes it all the time. (The hot milk is just enough to make me wanna puke!) If you find any, will you bring some home for me? Love you to India and back, Lenny!
You clever girl, you... Oh Matey...you conveniently left out the parts about getting charged by the bull and hurting your ankle the other day when we talked!!! Well, I guess I know by now that I don't need to worry about you...especially when you got wild dogs in your posse! ;) Still think it was all worth it to be surrounded by all that beauty and the prayer flag...so totally bitchin'! You will have to make Chapatis (or chipatis? You spelled it both ways) and Chai for me sometime! Can't wait to have you back in the same nation as me, but am so awed by and proud of all you do: the relationships you build with people, your spirit, your undying thirst for knowledge and your faith. I love ya, soul sista!!!!!!!!!! XOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOX
Super Storyteller Your trip so far is incredibly interesting! Memories for life no matter what time hands you down the road. Hope the cold was short, I have one too. It is surprising that your ankle did not get worse hiking down the mountain, hope it is totally well now. The rest of your trip cannot possibly compare to all that you have experienced so far! Take care.
Loads of love, Grammie
try triund i have been to dharamshala and mcleod. You must TREK to triund to see the real natural beauty of this place. Just a general recommendation....
Your Question... Hey! Thanks for followin the blog. Yes, we (my school) are joined with the Louisiana Himalayan Association (LHA). I can try to get you more contact information, but you may just try Googling it. If I don't get back to you right away with names and numbers, please message me again as a reminder. This trip is a whirlwind.
All His Love,
Ang
Now your guide dog's afraid of goats? Oh M'lady! So glad things seem to be going so smoothly for you! Don't get too comfortable...we want you back in America eventually! ;) All your talk of chai makes me thirsty! I've only had one cup of tea since I've been preggers! Phineas says hi! (Well he would if he didn't have a mouth full of amniotic fluid! Yum...) LOVE YOU, BAMBINO!!!!!!! Mwah!
~Mir~
Question! Hiya, thanks for your blog - it was really nice to hear of you being buddied up with a Tibetan to help improve their English etc - can I just ask, was this part of any particular program? I am interested in doing this kind of things when I go to Dharamsala in October! Thanks, Laura.
I am in awe I just wanted you to know that I am here reading your blog and faithfully following you along your journey. You are such an incredible woman, Ang! I admire you so much!
And you look like a million goats. (That's my new favorite compliment to give. Inspired by you in India)
Lots of love, K3P
