Im glad to read youre both well and dare I say it I think you've even got a tan ?!!! Kat said you might be popping your head to Fiji and Im planning on doing the same towards the end of the summer, so our paths might cross soon eh ?!
Take care,
Jabuticaba x
p.s - Thats ice cream looked lush !! It was always about the food for me !
Why am I not with you there? Josie and Andy, you´re missed here in Rio, but I´m sure you´re having a great time. Wow... I´m at a loss for words... looooooove the pictures and keep up the great narrative. I´m a bit ashamed I was soooo lazy to write the second half of my trip. But I´ll catch up soon.

la Paz Hey, you've neraly made it to La Paz. i can't wait to read what you have to say about it! And I wanna see some photos! I am off to Fiji next monday (19th). Exciting!
You didn`t go to Machu Pichu!!!!???? Hello Ginger Nuts. You{er buddy Dave here. I am in the Lima airport on my way to Ayacucho, staying overnight and bored out of my mind, so decided to see what you were up to. I just did the Sacred Valley tour yesterday ... pretty amazing huh?
I got suckered ... I signed up for the 4 day Machu Pichu tour in March. You{re right ... Cusco is damn expensive compared to Arequipa ... I think we did wise and went to school there ... so much cheaper, and you don{t have to say `No thanks`to massage people every 10 steps.
Keep in touch, and email me personally (I don{t know if this gets published automatically ... if so, YOU GUYS SUCK! he he he )
Trolley question We are sad to say that the trolley did not make the colca canyon. It is nothing for beginners, you know ;) It has been "donated" to the inhabitants of the streets of BA.
What about the trolley ? . Like your growing and appreciative audience I am following your exploits with anticipation and affection . What I really want to know though is whether you got the trolley to the bottom or did you abandon it in BA ? .
memories The colca is as pretty as I remember. I'm pretty sure we wimped out and didn't do the full trek (though we did go on an exploratory hike where we failed to keep up with our 12year-old guide). And we couldn't be bothered to go to the hot springs. I am still very jealous.
WOW The whole trek looks amazing - such hard work but what an amazing sense of achievement! Haven't written before due to my general allergy to computers and technology but have been having a sneaky look at your travels every now and then. Your adventures look fantastic and you must be having the time of your lives. Bims and i the hardworking proles that we are, are off to Venice for a few days in March which is fab.
Much love and good wishes Claire xxx

Nasty Growth Andy,
That's a nasty growth on your neck (top picture on Backpackaz in Paracas). Get it off with new improved "Gingaway" TM (Note: Pickey Products accept no blame for incorrect use of their products. Always consult your doctor prior to use and have regular screening checks for gingivitis)
Looking goooooood!!! Heyy, so meeting English teachers randomly ain't a Rio de Janeiro exclusive, huh! :P Keep up the great work... when's that recipe book being released?? My mouth is watering already!!

Scatology "These days the bottom has fallen out of the poo market" :)
The new pics of you two look somewhat moody, are you thinking of starting a folk pop combo when you get back? Sounds like you're having a great time, better than the wind and rain in Blighty :(
Crackers in paracas more like! Hallo you my far flung traveling friends...I still love your blog and especially the photos...how many countries left in South America now I wonder?? I thought I'd write and warn you that i will be joining you taveling around the world soon...I'm going to Fiji in February for a few months...so if you are planning to do the Pacific, you should definitely drop by! Family Heirachy I must agree the family heirachy of the seals is spot on, the dad is lower to catch the mum should she rollover to far while sleeping hmmm.
Have fun looking forward to seeing your trekking photos lots of wild life and such and I dont mean yours.......Luv
better food You seem to be out-fooding us in Peru, methinks we should have stayed with surgeons when we were there (Cuy without the hair on? Very upmarket). Though we did have stuffed rocoto and they were good. And corn-beer. Mmmn.
You travelled on the taxi-cholo and crazy minibuses yet? I remember yelling 'Bajo' a lot on the latter.
Galeria del Museo on Av. Bolivar 1515 is huge museum full of many, many archaological artefacts from the Incas and the rest. If you want to see big rocks and jars with snakes on, it has the best.
Enjoy, I am jealous.
Have you come across Elvis there? I once heard that Elvis was last spotted in Buenos Aires eating Tamales. Maybe Recoleta's cemetary would be the perfect place to look for him ahahha... been there and it's indeed a place worth a visit. :) Empanadas are just wonderful really. If you havent tried tamales, you'd better try it before you leave South America!! ;)
Keep it up!! Love, Ruama
I would have thought there might have been a pair or two of shoes hanging around Eva's place.
Reminds me of Pompeii ........quite dead.
Looking forward to your photos from Peru.....
Hope you are keeping a recipe book would like to try some of the things you are eating specially the pasty.Mmmmmmm
Luv to you both Mum
