Hey! Grüsse aus der "alten Heimat" ;o) Hab die Adresse von Deiner Ma bekommen, bin schwer begeistert!! Liebe Grüsse von Stephie, Pascal, Jonas & Paulina Z. ;o)
Santiago looks nice Hi guys! Been looking out for a new entry from you and here it is. Lovely photos, and Santiago sounds nice. Can't believe you are still in Latin America - it's been what, 5 months now? I still reckon you should pop over to Fiji. ;P
Where are we now?! :) Well.... hahaha :) we have actually left South America already, sob, and are cruising through New Zealand now. Internet is a bit expensive here so we can't update the blog as often as we would like. Keep us update where you go and who knows, maybe our ways will cross :)
Where are you? Hi there. Have been reading your blog avidly as I'm off travelling later this year and visiting quite a few of the places you've been and are planning to go. Love the pictures and your text really brings things to life. Just wondering where you are now?!!
ahhhh what can I say... I cant get enough of your adventures!!! But the way, I loved ur new profile picture... I suppose Andy didnt want to be called Pipin or Frodo anymore, and decided to go for a latin macho moustache look! hehehe I must say I miss you two immensely, and hope we´ll see each other sometime soon! Keep your journals up, I´m proud of you! Me, on the other hand, can´t say the same since I havent finished my journals of the Europe trip yet!! Nevermind, I might never finish it hehehe!!
A friend always told me about Bariloche and it does look gorgeous... Love you guys... miss you!!! ;)

Patagonia in April Perito Moreno in April should not be a problem as you take a bus or some kind of transport to get there and back. We went to Torres in mid Feb and had excellent weather as for Patagonia. Apparently people do it even in Winter. However, I heard also about people who had to turn back as it was raining the whole time, but that was in September. April/May being late summer/autumn might be a wonderful time. You really never know with patagonian weather. Just pack warm and waterproof clothes. Good luck and ENJOY!!! :)))
April/May I hope my last minute travel plans turn out good. Would love to hear your thoughts on checking out Torres del Paine and/or Perito Moreno Glaciares the end of April (4/28-5/1).
Sleepingbags Hey Em and Ben, our sleepingbags went to +3 and extremezone was
-5 C and it was cold some nights and just about bearable. We had a silk inliner and full clothes on during some nights, that is including a scarf and a hat for me :))) Hahaha. So, as it is getting colder and colder you definately should get a better sleepingbag. And don't forget to fill your waterbottle with some hot water for the night! It really helps!
Hi My boyfreind and I are on our way down to bariloche and then to el chalten. we are planning to do as much camping as we can. Just wondering what tempuratre sleeping bags you had. We think we need to buy some warmer ones as it seams quite cold....????
For adventures we came... ...and adventures we shall get!
And you did it! Well done, well done!
But why are your photos nicer than mine...?!? Better camera plus better photographer - hard to beat ;-)
A pity i didn't make it to Bariloche in time! Maybe we will have our steak dinner later somewhere else then...

Accomodation in El Chalten You should really try camping, it's fun and free! However, if your really not up for it accomodation is quite reasonable. Pretty much comperable with Bariloche and El Calafate, so you could get a dorm bed for about 25-30 Pesos per night. Doubles would be something around 120 Pesos. Not quite sure as we stayed all time outdoors. Have fun! For more info see comment below or give us a shout.
You should go! :) Well, it really depends what you want to do. We stayed in El Chalten for 3 nights and we feel we could have stayed longer. There are a lot of outdoor activities, so you will not get bored. You can easily spend 3 days camping and trekking in the Park for free, other activities will cost you but there is a good choice, e.g. Rockclimbing, moutain biking, ice climbing, horse riding. Just be careful when you go as it really shuts down for winter, which is something like end of April. It gets very cold (-20 C) down there.
What a great time Have been following your trek with great interest. El Chalten sounds(and looks) amazing. Are there affordable places to stay? My girl and I are not the camping legends that you have become!!
Fantastic Pictures I've been looking at your pictures and reading your story and it's just great! How long would you recommend going for? I want to go :)

The glacier You can totally do the glacier on your own. Unless you want to actually ice climb. The busses stop at the platform and then you will have the time to yourself to explore it´s beauty. You will be able to buy a boat ticket there too, it is about 35 Pesos. Have fun in SA and contact me if you need any more information.
the glacier Your recap of your glacier day was spot on. I'm off to S Amer later this year and the Moreno Glacier is one of my aims. Is it OK to go to the glacier solo and not with a group?
Congratulations! Well done on your fantastic experience. I'm sure you have slightly more idea now why I sailed across an ocean twice...? Mostly just because it is there!
Stupendous Just when you think things couldnt be any beautiful. You send these photos back. Absolutley breath taking. I am lost for words and thats saying something. All our love you lucky pair. x x x x
Funny how ..... Funny how we had to drag you around Southport in years gone by . Funny how the simplest of things can be life changing sometimes and where you find real beauty . And yes , we do realise that you will want to stay in the garden from now on .
Windy, Sick and Dried Food..... sounds great? Ugh! thanks for the very descriptive blog. One place I will strike from my "Places to see before I die" It's great fun reading about all of your adventures whilst I sit in my warm house sipping my hot tea. No, seriously, your writings are so enjoyable to read, it's a great adventure you're on, savour every minute of each day. Take care. x
Hope you enjoyed your Torres trek. Reading your blog has made me feel very nostalgic as we loved it so much (despite the stupidly heavy bags!). Punta Arenas does feel a bit like the end of the world!
