Thank you! I can't tell you how much I'm enjoying your blog - it's almost as good as being there. We've been to Turkey twice (and still haven't seen everything you did) and would go again as well. You write beautifully! Love, Dee
Gilly - I missed your blogs! Thanks for catching up; Turkey looks beyond belief. I love the carved into the rock buildings and the hot air balloon looked very exciting. And you'll be home soon, could life be better? Jean
cool - i didn't get up Mont Juic. I loved the Picasso museum too. If you really want to see his stuff you need to go to the MOMA in NYC. Maybe the three of us could do a weekend there. . . J
I love keeping up with your travels on the blog! I love how you write about where you and what you see and what you do! The pictures are great too. LOVE the photo of the fountain with the cherubs and carnations (at least I think that is what they are). Type of flower is irrelevant...I love the idea and the colour on the grey. It is wonderful to feel connected to your experience. When you are back, your anectodes and stories will really reasonate having read the blog.
I am loving your blog Barcelona is indeed one of the beautiful cities on the world, in my opinion, and you are seeing things we didn't have time for - I am hoping to get back there again. Meanwhile, I'm enjoying it vicariously.
Barcelona Oh Gilly - how great, now I wish I would have gone inside the church! What memories of the park and all the architecture. It's like being an architect is a real job in Barcelona! I loved all the different shapes and sizes, the modernism beside the old. It is a really big fish down by the beach and I think its beside the natural history museum. One of your pics from an earlier blog was taken from the National Gallery up on the hill and looks almost identical to one of mine. Glad you're both having a great time. Looks like a blizzard here today. . . . J
It was when I was inside that the true glory came to me, bit of an expensive touch though for walking around inside a church. I'll think warm thoughts at you, although he has begun to rain here now.
Happy November Wow Gilly - more adventures under your belt. Sorry to hear about missing the Jacob pick up, I'm sure you were frantic, particularly after a day of 'planes, trains and buses'! Glad it worked out. Your mum and I are going out tonight - classical music at the College Building. Continue to enjoy and thanks for the regular posts. J
Cinque Terra at last Thanks for the posting Gilly - it looks as marvellous as I thought it might. I'm so glad you had good weather. Have a great time in Paris. Miss you and Butch. Jean
Buon Giorno Gillian Hi Gillian:
We were in Venice about 5 years ago in October and I can identify with the weather and the scenery and all the foods. We loved walking in all the different districts. It was like entering into a fairytale land. There is nothing like it in the world. I notice you got yourself into the pashmina scarf style. This is big over there and the varieties are endless. Enjoy the rest of your time. I shall follow with interest as my roots are Italian.
EVERYTHING LOOKS WONDERFUL GILL. HAS MOM ARRIVED? WOULD LOVE TO SEE HER ON THOSE HILLS. OFF TO SEATTLE IN AN HOUR. LOVE TO ALLXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX MARY ANN
Miss you Thanks so much for the beautiful pictures and the wonderful words. Makes us feel a part of your spectacular journey. Had our first snow here and it stayed on the ground overnight. Kind of dreary but finding the couch blankets and turning on the fireplace almost makes it better. Looks like you're doing and seeing all that Venice has to offer. Wish Marc a happy birthday for us. Hugs from the Lake
Hello from Ontario This looks like a great introduction into the new school year. Jacob learns in an outdoor classroom. Continue to have fun. The pictures are really nice and the descriptions very tempting. I think we shall return to the East Coast next summer. There is too much beauty there not to experience.
Be well
geri & chris z.
Thanks Geri, we really are having a great time. Jake left for Ireland yesterday and I am off to Italy on the 10th, so the next leg of the year off begins.
Le Chemin du Buttereau I too marvel at the living conditions of the early Acadian settlers. Take Cap Rouge, for instance; that it was ever a settlement boggles me. Where was there space for houses?
In my mind, I added the air to your photos, and the crackle of the waves on the beach, although it's probably more pronounced at Corney Brook.
