first impression of Granada
After driving for hours we finally reached Granada. My first thought was that probably my memory had fooled me..I remembered it differently, more attractive in various photos I had seen.I was looking at a normal European city with nothing special to offer to my "hunger"for romance!Of course it was due to my being so tired,to my high expectations just from the first glance, and to my impatience to see every special corner just by wondering around trying to find the hostel!! The truth is,well,my truth I should say, that after completing my tour to Granada I realized that it had to offer romantic elements to please my greed for romance and it could actually combine the old element with the new in order to bind with one another harmonically and give the citizen or the visitor the chance to "transfer"from the every day reality of Granada city to its atmospheric surroundings like for example the Observatory.Me and my friends visited the Observatory twice, once in the afternoon and once at nighttime .You can just breath differently when passing through the old neighborhood.Nothing too special, that for example we haven't seen in Greece, but still atmospheric. The view to Alhambra from the observatory was fantastic!

another perspective...
Since I was there too,I have to say that I wasn't as fascinated from Granada as I expected to be.That doesn't mean that it wasn't a very beautiful place. It all depend on how often you travel throughout Europe. If you do it often then the architecture, the big rivers that cross the capitals may seem the same..Of course the culture ,the history, the way of living and interacting may differ a lot.But that is something you need to explore,to discover..the trip takes a total new meaning that doesn't have to do with buildings and bridges and rivers..It has to do with smells and details and words. It has to do with the way someone holds his fork or says good morning. I was more fascinated by the total aura of the trip.I was fascinated from the kindness and hospitality of Spanish people, from their habit to eat standing in Granada(after a while I stopped wearing high heels!),from the nice company we had that made the trip unforgettable and the connection we developed with those friends from Spain. That was for me the most significant part of the trip.
