Hello from Peru! Matt - I send you lots of greetings from Peru! I am enjoying the Winter (WOW) and am happy to be somewhere where the World Cup is of utmost importance. It looks like all is going tremendously well for you and the GYLI group - What abundant and privledged lives we lead to be able to travel the globe and to open it up to such lovely young people. Peace to you and all with you - looking forward to when our festive paths cross again!!
Cecilia
PS - A big HELLO to Vishwas and his wonderful family - I still miss my henna hand!!
Sounds like you're up for a great experience in India! What sort of work will you be doing there with GYLI? My boyfriend and I have a community travel blog, and we're always looking for travel photos, social commentaries, volunteer info, reviews, etc. If you have the time, check it out at dirty-hippies.blogspot.com, or email us at dirtyhippiesblog@gmail.com. Enjoy your time in India!
Heather :)
Best Wishes!! Matt- Don't you miss me in India? Good times - wish I were there this time. Well, you know I will be following you and the team and I wish you all the best!
Cecilia :)
Matt: thanks so much for posting about your observations and experiences. We're reading "Things Fall Apart" in my world lit class right now, so tidbits about what Nigeria is like Today--or, at least, last week!--are great. It's also pretty darn phenomenal that you're spreading the GYLI word world-wide, and I can only imagine how the programs will be enriched by your experiences. Jean
Africa Your Blog is excellent, and I really feel your are getting a huge amount of solid experience with this conference and trip to Nigeria. Look forward to hearing more about this in person. Meanwhile, Cecilia and I visited the Dallas World Fest where upon recommendation I just had to try Kingfisher beer from the India stand....! Pretty much ok!
Hi Matt!! Well Mr. Nink, just today I was wondering about your trip to Nigeria and now there you are... Don't you miss me and my luggage? Don't you wish I were there asking about museums and shopping?? But seriously, glad to know are you are well and making the most of the experience (of course). And I am not the least bit surprised about Kim's following - she is my #1 global gal pal as you know!!
If you can, check out and click on our Brazil exchange blog - it's uabrazilexchange.blogspot.com The kids will be beyond excited to see Nigeria on our cluster map!!!
keep the news coming!!
and safe travels my friend,
Cecilia N.
we're listening! Matt, don't want you to feel no one is reading! I'm realizing what an array of international and independent schools there are in India. It sounds as if you are making great personal connections with people, always your strength. Don't forget to pick up mementos for Joan and your kids.

Best wishes Matt! Sounds like an amazing experience. I know you will give all you have. Also, please find solutions to bring back for us while you are there.

Bon Voyage Matt,
Sounds like a great adventure. We have been speaking quit a bit about India and China here at CGSC. Hope you read the book - The World Is Flat - by Freidman. He has great things to say about India and its role as an emerging nation in global politics and economics. Check the CDC and State Department travel advisories. Enjoy and be safe. What city will you be in? PS this is my first blog...ever.
