Tips and Reeds Just a few of the tips you might not find in a guide book! The reeds have a bit of the celery about them but with a sweeter taste. I think a Reed would make an excellent bar snack, maybe even better than the peanut!
"bus company - Omni" - useful advice from an experienced traveller. I'll remember that.
But I'm far more curious about the reeds. Are you seriously telling me (us) that reeds taste good? If so, which part, and what does it actually taste like?
photos Great to see your photos Nick, really brings back the pain and glory of that second day. Why I have my eyes shut in all of them is anyones guess. Great socks ... they were even brighter in real life. We are in Ushuaia now , it´s great down here. Keep in touch, Laura
There err, electricity pilons I tell you! Its true no normal person (in their right mind!) would take a small library and ton of electronic equipment on a trek. (just worked out how to leave comments!)
Rain!!! Ey up chuck!
Having looked at your pictures it looks very different to when we did the Trail back in May! I agree with Day Two - Dead Woman's Pass almost did make me a dead woman!!! Very aptly named I thought!
Keep enjoying - I'm home in 3 weeks!
Found you out You're playing for sympathy in Day 2, but in Day 3 http://img1.travelblog.org/Photos/9550/32841/t/169636-Day-3--More-Views-0.jpg we can clearly see the cable-car wires in the picture. You just rode up didn't you? Go on, admit it, no-one would be silly enough to walk a load of books up MachuPicchu. :-)
Seriously, the pictures are marvellous. Wow.

Happy New Year! Hi Nick, told you it is going to be difficult to hang on to anything camera-wise! Glad to hear you finally really went! Good to do the Spanish course first, otherwise you'll miss a lot.
you can'y fool me! Looks like everyone fell for your cover story of quitting your job! I know the truth is that you are on some secret reconnaissance mission for the government. Take care and watch out for those pesky locals!
Merry New Year! Alright the Goode!! Glad to hear you're having a fantastic time. By the number of girls in all your photos it looks like you're keeping yourself busy, no wonder you look so tired in some of the pics you sent!! Looking forward to the next installment and more piccies! x x x
Fu, excellent to hear your stories hope you are keeping well. Nice to talk to you last night - we are suffering today so New Years Eve might be an early night... Take Care
Behave Nick

It worked then... Glad to see the GPS received actually worked. This travel blog stuff is marvellous. Gives you the ability to tell people of all the excitement in your own time. I'm already jealous. Looking forward to the next episode.
Oh, and merry Xmas. :-)
Rob
Happy Christmas Dear Nick, great to see your blog is finally up and running. Bet that buenos aires is going to be awesome for christmas, we are now in Salta (northern argentina) steak, vino tinto and pannetone for christmas dinner, can´t be bad. Hopefully bump into you again further down the line, if not in Rio for the carnival. All the best, Laura + Katharine.
Merry Christmas Big man
Loving the blog dude. I'm on my last day at work before xmas, enjoying reading about your travels. One questions - can you set up a non-parents blog so we can read about your sexploits?
Andy
Just read your journals Thanks for the e-mail. Will be viewing your journals with interest in future, they look good as does the super new jumper! Hope you weren't sick on the germans.
mid 2005 - It was time to either start getting serious about my job and get onto that property ladder or blow all available cash on a round the world trip. Here are the results...
